Last time I ordered an Easystar, I received the new version. I prefer this new version, the motor mount is better made, removable stabilizer, longer fuselage etc. Everything look good quality. No motor included

motor: unknown
ESC: 30A with BEC use for all servos
prop: folding prop included with Easystar
receiver: Sherrer 8ch
Lipo: 2200mAh

Video will be add after maiden flight will be done

Camera: RCV922 (linear reg use to lower to 5V)
transmitter: 900Mhz 500mW (freq:1040Mhz)
antenna: dipole hand made
panning servo: HXT900 modified with two resistors

Very clean build! Looks like its going to be a fun ship! So how do you like the 3d video easystar? Does the 3d video help with flying low and around obstacles?

I love it very much, the 3D view is awesome and work really well. It does not help to fly around obstacle because it miss me the headtracker for that purpose. But the view in 3D when I fly thrue obstacles is amazingly cool. I don't use 3D goggle available on the market, mine as been modified to get two video input jack, so I use two Tx onboard the plane and two rx on ground

Heh. Sorry, didn't want to hijack the thread! So, on the Easystar II, I like how clean the dipole is. BUT, I am extremely happy with my BlueBeam set (at 2.4ghz) on my Multiplex Mentor. How well does the dipole work? Have you tried CP antennas?

I'm very satisfy with the result I got with simple dipole antenna cut at the good lenght, very few video dropout in direct line of sight up to 1km, so I never tried the cp antenna. I never go beyond 1 km.

I forget to say that I don't use the standard 900mhz receiver, I prefer far more the Lawmate receiver with the standard dipole sell with it, but it have only two channels compatible. The receiver is mount on my headset.

Looks great VR. Will be copying. What is flight time with the 2200?

10 min at full power and around 25 with no wind with my previous easystar and the same setup

what size battery will it hold stock? Heard there is a bigger area for the battery. How about CG adjustment?

the nose is longer, but it make no advantage for heavier battery because heavier battery will need to be install more in the back of the fuse and you will need to remove foam to install a battery there.

In fact it would fly well with lighter battery that we can install way in front insidethe nose. 1000mah would last around 10 min in no wind condition. not very usefull...

2200 4 cell in orrigional ez star flys easy 35 minutes

This is with motor on all the time

It's all I your motor and prop choice
But most important is aerodynamics

Good combo of motor and bat and prop makes Ezstar fly long time

Wind also makes world of difference, as high winds make for shorter flight times

To heavy increase amp draw so not to large battery

2200 4 cell works great! Fly fast at low amps

Nice weight for Ezstar

Awesome plane man! Probably one of the cleanest FPV planes I've ever seen. Definitely the cleanest Skysurfer/Easystar/Bixler!

The only concern I have is with that door on the bottom on hard landings. After a while it may become bent, or snapped, etc.

Also, you may want to make that dipole a vee, it'd be pretty simple and you could probably still fit it on the tail from looking at the pics. Even just a very slight vee improves banking video quality.
