Hi all, i'm buying the Aeroworks extra 300 .60 .90 and i was wondering witch engine to go with this airframe.

i have an Aeroworks 260 .60 .90 powered by Saito 82a, for my flying that's underpowered and i dont want to do the same mistake.

on the other hand i don't wanna mess with my firewall i've never done such job before as well , so i was wounding if the Saito FA 115 will fit in without having to modify the firewall if not then what about the FA 100.

For a 6 - 6.5 lb. plane the 100 will perform very well. I have a 100 on a 7.5 lb Hog Bipe (5900 feet) and my eye sight is the only limit to vertical.

An either or thing, your choice. There isn't more then about a nickles worth of difference between the engines and the plane is a 90 size so there isn't any problem with the fire wall.
Most any other manufacture and I would say to add some angle stock behind the fire wall but AW sells a pretty good product! One of the best ARFs on the market! I have a few ARF distributors I can say that about but they sell bigger {giant scale} planes only. AW sells a quality product even in there electrics!
I feel they are a lot over priced but at least you know you haven't spent your modeling bucks on junk!

It depends how crazy of a 3d flyer your are, the bigger the engine the more fun.

I never saw the term 3-D mentioned but if that is what you are looking to do then the 100 and 115 still isn't a great choice. Ever thought of a YS like there 115??
If you phone AW they are very nice folks and are happy to tell you what they like to use in there planes for different types of flying. They may recommend one of the smaller gas engines for what you are wanting??

I just bought the same plane. How about a ST G.90 for it? Any thoughts on this engine as long as I can keep it running smooth?

My old Enya 90 4C does just fine on my 7 1/2 pound CAP. Not unlimited verticle, but 200 foot diameter loops are not a big issue from level flight.

Thanks guys for all the advice, let me tell you I'm not a pro 3D flyer i just do inverts, loops, hovers, knife Edges i don't fly on 3D rates usually, i fly on high rates yes, the only thing i cannot fly high in this country for my plane not to be spotted and taken by police so i have to fly only few feet above and accordingly to this plane wight i need a strong powerful reliable engine to tolerate the lack of room i have if something went wrong, and on the other hand i want to make sure if i can fit in the Saito 100 or Saito 115 without having to modify my firewall or cowl

No problem with the fire wall. What country are you in that would confiscate a model plane? Or are you flying next to an active airport??

Well I was relicated cpl of years ago to Bahrain cause of my job and I realized that model planes
Are not allowed here though there are lots who own planes here

Yes. The 100 is the same size as the older 90 and as I recall so is the 115.

I try to use what I have on hand instead of buying a new engine. The airframe will take a DLE 20 too. You may want to wait until you have the plane in hand before you decide anything. Wait until you open the box!! The way it is packed is wonderful to look at too. I don't care for AWs prices but they sure sell a great product. When you have it you can measure everything and decide what you want to do.
