Can anyone help me identify the maker of this plane

I bought this plane used, the previous owner didn't know who the manufacturer was. Could you guys help me identify it. I'm told its a Katana, the wingspan measures to be 85in

If I were to guess from that pic I would say a Great Planes Extra. But that is just from the canopy placement and the aileron style. Like I said, just a guess. Shaun

Looks like a cross between Extra 300 and CAP 231... very interesting to say the least. Maybe I'm forgetting an aerobatic plane. The cowl and landing gear are more like an Extra, and the wings and canopy shout CAP, but they're too high and the leading edge is very conservative.

The wing root says it's a Katana of some sort. Google will help you from here.

I'm a dunce, I didn't read the title or the first post completely. Yeah that definitely is a Katana... it's the aerobatic plane that slipped my mind. lol

You'll just have to find out which manufacturer makes it in those dimensions.
