Well I got some more time today to work on Oculus #22 the covering is basically done it is coming time for the final items in the fuse and get the rudder hinged.

I sure like the green and white it shows up good against the sky.
it won't be too long before I start on My E-Oculus

After doing a few lay ups for the E-Oculus I have found the right lay up formula. When I cut the opening under the wing mount and with out the servo mount in the canopy area I found that the fuse was not stiff enough. Thinking of what to do with out adding weight. I remembered that I had some glass tow. One strand of 12K glass tow under the last layer in the lay up. It was laid in from the nose under the canopy opening back under the wing mount in the corners to the TE. It's almost like running a stringer along the insides. The Elevator servo mount is now under the wing with the Rudder servo is in front of the tail post. It did make a difference in the end.

Bench testing from the other day.

This info is after peck start up.
1300mah 3c 65s
13X7 EMP prop
759 RPM
10.1 V
38 Amp
385 Watt

Same Battery
14X10 EMP prop
669 RPM
10.V
56 Amp
560 Watt

I went with the 13X7 prop for this Sundays test and everything went well. Climb was good, motor sounded better with no bog sound change on launch. It wanted to climb vertical.

New Fuse layup?

Hi Merril.
I just recieved an e-fuse for the Oculus which I got from my buddy Tim.
I was wondering if I have the new lay-up. It was shipped last week, (W/E Sept 29th)

By the way, Good Luck in Visalia. Wish I could be there. Next year I hope!

I think you meant to say 1300mah 3s 65 c

a 65s would be a motor melter

I think so what id the fuse # Look inside the canopy just under the rail and if has a one glass tow strand each side it's the new lay up.
