throttle curve for mild

ive noticed people suggesting a flat throttle curve with the astroid design mild brushless kit- does that mean L75, 75 75 75 H75? how does that work?

wouldnt the heli spool up too fast with no throttle input?

Means that your throttle stays @ 75% while your stick input changes the collective. With gov on, head speed stays the same....

The ESC with BLHeli firmware has a soft start up routine. So it will slowly spool up.

Otherwise, some people has a linear throttle curve set in Normal mode to get the heli into the air. Then flip the switch into Stunt mode which has a flat throttle curve.

Either way will work. Depends on your preference.

Yep, 75 right through and a linear pitch should be a good setup.

And no worries. :-)

I think it is only set on the mode you wish: Stunt1/2, but not usually N.

Of course. Not to actually fly because there will be a lag. (Feels like +expo on the throttle channel to me)

It's good for manual spooling up. Slowly taking off like a scale Heli. Hovering in the air.

Once in the air, flip over to your other mode that has a flat curve to govern your headspeed and actually "fly".

Fair enough. So somewhat possible but not ideal or practical.

Unless scale flying that is, but I guess the need for a gov BL CP heli surpasses the scale requirements.

It's definitely an awesome little heli, you'll have fun with minimal expense for repairs (unless you go the upgrade route, things get a bit dearer then).

Stand with your back to the light source and she is much easier to see. Of course I fly mine in a room full of windows so I understand that can be hard
lol On the Judge Judy.
I'd go with back to doors but were I'm sitting is our kitchen and all our dining room stuff, so its more congested than If I face the doors.

Spring will be here in few months then outside flying.

It more just "different strokes for different folks". Some people are more comfortable controlling the rate at which the head spools up and the Heli leaves the ground. It's actually more similar to a stock setup.

Hearing the head spool up to a flat throttle curve rate can be unnerving for those using a brushless for the first time.

It's good to be aware of both scenario.

It is definitely a fun little outdoor beast. I promise you though, once you start flying it outside you're gonna want something bigger. It's like a sickness, or addiction, once you start its a long and windy road to recovery :-).

No worries, I haven't modded to BL yet, I do have two stock BL heli's but I'm not seeing the unnerving part, ( they both soft start even in IU), perhaps when I put the new motor in the 130x that might change. :-)
I defo understand now though, not a problem. I just though that it would conflict with the esc being in TX gov mode.

I've got glue here, if you post me one of those BL conversions I will glue it into my heli and take photos for you
Someone's going to be in BL heaven soon.

Got 5 flights in the living room tonight, but finally broke the wires inside the rear frame where the boom goes in. Boom was sagging and I dropped it with TH on to avoid a corner when it got behind me when the furnace blower kicked on.

Looked like no damage, set it down and it spun donuts. Tailmotor dead.

Getting a new Tip or Iron tomorrow at Lowe's with some shrink and will try and tack them together at both ends. Broke at the motor end too when removing them. Good time to put the CF rod boom on.....
