Wrong thread, but I see several here using DX7S for Heli flying. Anyone know off hand the extras that come on the DX7S vs a DX7. Mine is 2.5 yrs old looking to replace this spring, maybe at Toledo Show.

Does the DX7S have Throttle Curves on the Airplane side too? Is the DX7S a step Up from the DX7 or a tad lower in features, like an Econ Version? At $374 it's hard to believe it is lower than a DX7.

Personally I don't like it much compared to my old DX7, but it has some major improvements. Two flight modes is all I ever use anyway. The programming is a little easier on the new one and of course the memory swap is effectively an infinite number of models you can program. Ability to use a Lipo pack (instead of A123 like the old DX7) is really nice, and the telemetry feature is nice too. However, overall, I hate the feel of it so much I wouldn't want to switch with my old DX7. Don't like the DX8 for the same reason. At any rate, it's a common question...

I also like the Feel of the DX7.

Been using a Rhino 3S 2250 Transmitter Lipo for over two years in the DX7 no issues.

Thanks for the Link.

I really like the feel of the dx7S/8 over the dx7, though I didnt when i first put my hands on it.

I now moved up again and I am still wondering if I will ever use all the channels on the latest radio

After reading that and my DX7 Features in the manual, guess I would go with the DX8.

First I have to wait and see what's HH cooking in the kitchen with the 130X...

Man I've been away from this thread for a few days and I have to weed through a bunch of nonsense and way off topic crap only to find out that now we're talking about radios and other heli's? I remember when this thread first got started and was really informative and helpful, seems to have gone the way a lot of other threads go when people get bored....kinda sad.

A quick glance through the manual shows no throttle curves on the Acro settings.

I think the DX7s is the downgraded/cheaper version of the DX8. I quite like the radio, but I do wish I had just pony'd up the coin for the 8, the extra flight mode and a back lit screen would be a great feature that I really want right now. I haven't had any troubles with it, (other than those items missing), and the simple functionality has definitely improved my flying. (Now that I can use all the functions is probably the most of the reason, much simpler than the dx6i which I also have (2 of))...

The 130x seems to be an awesome heli, I've purchased one to be a real world sim for my 300x (cheaper to crash). Once you trace down the vibes, and follow the checklist of things to do before first flight (I didn't, and have a gash on my foot from a thrown tail rotor and blade grip from first spool-up) it seems to be a real performer.

I've found that the ball link rubber grommet mod, and the tail box bearing spacers (I'm now installing 4x6x0.1mm spacers beneath both flanged bearings), Loctite on all grip bolts, and tighter blade grip to rotor screws (take out the floppiness and just leave a tiny bit of drag on the blades) seem to almost eliminate problems. I'm also about to balance my blades to hopefully get rid of the rest.

As for the off topic discussions, a lot of them are kinda relevant being with radios and stuff, but I do tend to agree that the quality info can be hard to find. Perhaps we could move all the good stuff to the very first page, that way it can be a simple task to find the much needed info.
