Yes, I think 8S is too much. The motor kV is 370, so if you go 8S and you factor a 10% voltage drop, that's 30.24 volts. So the motor RPM (unloaded) would be 11,188, that's very high for an 18" or 20" prop...

Well guys I just went and picked up mine, boy what a fuselage, it looks waaay bigger than my windS 110.

Now, back to the motor issue. Putting everything together the clearance required between the back of the spinner and the firewall (total motor length) is 79-80mm. This is great if you're using the 5XS and 6s, but I already have a stack of 6s stuff, which I'd like to continue to use. THis really limits engine choice for good efficency. I'm not sure I like the idea of running a 6XS on 8s swinging a 18x8 to keep the amps down, but unless theres another motor, around 250KV that'll fit I don't know what I can do.

I I have been doing research in order to see the brushless options.
i used the Flight calculator from CastleCreations that its quite realistics, I check it with Castle bec and Hacker Brushless in my Winds 110 and the results were much the same as real ones.

What I could see is that Hacker Brushless 6XS is not for 8s, I think

That confirms my suspicions.

I'm thinking of fitting an AXI 5325/18 or 20 in there for some zing. Thoughts?

As I mentioned previously in this thread the Motrofly 5320-300 (from Subsonic Planes) might be a good option for 8S, quite a short motor, only 15g more than the Hacker XS & rated at 2800W on 8S (APCe 20x10). I've not used this motor myself but a buddy has one in a Slick 71" running 8S & getting 2400W (on a 20x8 I think) & is very happy with it.

Why?

Prop clearance with a 20 inch prop is 3 1/2 inches on the wheels. Checked last night.
