Hi,

Is there a full composite Mythos Pro 2 x 2 M (wing+stab also) avaliable in future (like it is for Wind S Pro)?

I've been following the Mythos 125 since it was 1st announced:
Originally the recommended power set was Hacker A60-6XS and Spin 99 ESC on 6S 5000mA turning an APCe 21x14 - 22x10 !!
Next iteration was same A60-6XS but with the Hacker X-110 ESC, same battery and the prop recommendation changed to APCe 19x12 - 20x10
Now we have the Hacker A60-5XS, Hacker X110 ESC & APCe 18x8 recommendation.
Higher Kv motor, lower prop load so should be OK - I wonder if there is a ground clearance issue with the 20" and above props ??

I look forward to the flight report.

Steve
Great post Steve, it ties all the different setups I've seen. I hope your ordering is correct and the 5xs is the latest and greatest. But if I wanted to use two 4 cell packs right from the start instead to two 3 cell packs (easy for me to do as I don't an investment in either at the moment), I'd want the 6SX, right?

No, Chris said he's inquired multiple times on both cost and schedule with no definitive response. I don't even see hard evidence they'll do a full 2m of this plane, it's pretty close to the full size as is. What's the market? Sebastian already has his. Maybe he's interested in moving on to the 'next' new design.

I see you are in Florida. I used to live down there. Lots of great clubs back in the 80's and 90's. I lived in Satellite Beach and later Viera and belonged to the Indian River Kontrol Society. Pretty large and diverse club. Mr Top Gun himself Dave Platt and another great Top Gun competitor Bud Roane were in the club, Ron Ellis who is a great pattern flyer and tutored me to my first pattern comp win is in that club, the very nice gentleman who's name I forgot but started and owns the Spring Air Retracts was in the club, decent flyers like Ransom Fairchild, etc. In the winter our club seemed like it doubled in size with all the snow birds that came down. Not too far away in the orlando area was RC City where you could find great pilots like Jason and Dave Shulman as well as the form AMA pres Don Lowe. Good times. Kevin Proodian was a great pattern flyer down south in your general area. I enjoyed the few pattern contests down south. Yikes, back to current events. Yes, get that darn thing flying and let us know how it goes!

I think both the A60-5XS & 6XS are 6S motors, based on their Kv. Also Hackers German web-site shows them as 6S motors with the following recommendations
A60-6XS APCe 22x10 105A & Xoar 20x13 98A
A60-5XS APCe 18x8 95-98A

For 8S you need a lower Kv motor such as the Hacker A60-5S, it is 295Kv & they recommend an APCe 21x10 at 85A on 8S BUT it is 10mm longer & 115g heavier than the XS motors.
Similarly the Hacker A60-7S is suitable for 10S (215Kv) - Hacker show an APCe 22x12 at 73A on 10S, but again this is also 115g heavier & 10mm longer than the XS.
Also with 8S & in particular 10S the battery weight will be significantly higher than the 6S option, so combined with a heavier motor this will probably be an issue.

The Motrofly 5320-300 (from Subsonic Planes) might be a good option for 8S, quite a short motor, only 15g more than the Hacker XS & rated at 2800W on 8S (APCe 20x10).

I'm sure the Hacker A50-16L (Kv 272) will also fit, easy 2000W on 8S with APCe 18x10, I'm pushing mine a bit on my Wind 110 as I've changed to a 18x12 (2200W), motor gets quite hot but holding up so far. I like the extra power the 18x12 gives me. With the Mythos being larger than the wind110 2200W might not be enough ??

I have some Zippy Compact LiPo's yet to try, 8S 25C 5000mA pack is only 909g
so only about 100g more than the recommended TP 65C 6S pack - That might be a good 8S option together with the Motrofly motor.

It is nice to have something nice there in the cockpit, at least I like that.

Funny, in my head the MythoS canopy had to be bigger but when put side-by-side, surprisingly they are very close! Looks like you could easily modify the deck and/or cockpit/pilot from the WindS 50e for the MythoS...

Hey, update from the flyer on youtube

He said he changed propeller to MEJZLIK [ 20x12] only and now the power is enough to do F3A pattern but he can't fly the whole F3A P-13 because the capacity isn't enough [Tiger 6S-5400mAh 45C battery] . He's waiting to change to 8S once he hears back from someone else who's flying this plane and making the change to 8S. Guess it just designed and marketed to someone who was going to fly a long sequence. More for the shorter lower level sequences.

7.5 to 8 mins total flight time is probably the norm.

My gear selection for a Mythos 125E:

ESC = Schulze Future 32.80KA F3A
Motor = Hacker A60-6XS V2
Prop = 20x10
Servos = Hyperion HV
Switch = PowerBox Digi-Switch
Battery = Probably going to be 5000mah 8S

Got the motor tonight.

Have to wait for Sunday, Father's Day in AUS, to get the plane. Can't wait to open the box, already standing in the workshop.

Hello Guys, this is my first post!
Congratulations to the discussion, it is very interesting!
I have the first configuration recommended by Sebart (Hacker A60 6XS, ESC Hacker Spin 125, Xoar 20x13 prop, Zippy 5000 30C) and waiting for the Mythos125 I tried it on a Funtana X100 (4700gr).
I tried a flight pattern of 8 minutes and both power consumption seemed to me good. In the end I had a remaining battery by about 21%.

Hi,

Not 100% sure about 8S for the A60-6XS, I am having a tough time finding an actual specification on the motor or a proper manual.

Is 8S too much for it?

I'm going to try 8S with the a60-5S, when mounted without the x brace it leaves an 1/8 inch gap from the cowl to the spinner. I mounted the rudder servo in the rear to help with the heavier motor.

All the info I've seen on this motor show it using 6S batteries.

Here's the Google translated Hacker link:
