More info on this build can be found here.

Im B_rads bro, and designer/computer/3d guru of the build.

We had issues with the turnigy 90amp ESC and have sence went with Petes Signature series 115amp Opto on 6s

We are seeing 2300 watts @ 108 amps max. And the thrust Oh My!!!!
Current AUW with no paint 3lb 7oz

So, how much thrust, then? Would probably be even better with the CS 12 Blader, or a Midi.

Has anyone ever put this in an airframe. Most of the people seem to use them for paper weights.

That's the same housing they offer as a stand alone unit or coupled with the 12b. I checked with them and the housing itself weighs 270g. As far as I know I have seen no testing using that housing, even with the 12b. Assuming they got the stators wrong when they matched the 18b with the 12b housing than maybe the different stators on this new 18b will make a difference. The housing does claim room for a 42mm motor. Interestingly the add says "high thrust". That may or may not be the joke of the day.

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...3&postcount=39

Still waiting on a maiden.

AUW 3.5lbs loaded
95-100 amp on 6s
4.5lb thrust installed*static

I believe the 18 blade is more of a gimmick. Its not meant for high power outputs but instead for scale looks and sound.
Cant ever see this going beyond 6s

Now using other formulas/blade count options? you can get it there.

Trick is having a true spinner/collet
