My Spies is now almost ready to fly. I`m just waiting for the postman to deliver my motor. A Scorpion 1804. The model weighs 83g with everything except the motor. If Scorpion gives an accurate weight at their hompage the all up weigt should be 95g

It will be a good plane, and good weight, Anders. What size battery are you going to use?

I know nothing about that motor, but David Duval has the Scorpion motor in his new f3p plane: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1783041

As you have now a good plane and a lot of time to practise before March, you definitely need to come here for Finnish F3P Championship to test the Spies in "real action" Och David, och alla andra svenska f3p flygare också!

I plan to use a 120mAh battery pack that weighs 9g. If the Scorpion motor draws to many amps I will use a 180mAh pack that weighs 11g.
Regarding the Finnish championships I fear it would bee a humiliating affair for me based on the excellent flying by Finnish pilots displayed on the Internet. Keep up your good work!

Anders, that is super light if you really have weighed all parts in. More photos please when the plane is ready to fly!

I'll be there so you wouldn't have anything to worry about. I don't fly in FAI class but in Sports and maybe in Advanced for the first time...

Hi Anders.
You did a very light aircraft.
Please flight video.
I was in Finnish.
It's very democratic competition.
Anyone can find a rival to the level.

Here are my two F3P-models. The Symmetric at 102,5g. It is the best model I have tried so far. The hopes are high for the Spies now at 96,5g.

Since I did not recieve the Scorpion motor in time for the weekend I temporarely fitted a french F3P-motor from Topmodels. It is slightly heavier than the Scorpion meaning that final weight of the Spies will bee below 95g.

With the current setup I could not get the CG further back than 140mm from the wing leading edge. That is the most forward position recomended by Donatas.

Testflights will bee tomorrow.

Hello Anders looking really good. Wish you best luck with test flight. 140 mm from leading edge of wing is acceptable C.G position to start with. I include attachment Spies on diet If everything will go well I plan to use this model in WC in Germany.

Hi All
I have been reading this thread and by the time I got to the end I had to order a "Spies" kit from Electricwingman and the EP2202/1500 motor from Robotbirds here in th UK.
Can you tell me where I can purchase a Glavak prop, what size I would need for the above motor and will I need a prop adaptor.

Many Thanks in advance for your help.

For the Glavak prop you can look here http://www.f3p-online.com/ I've never tried the EP2202 motor but a 9 x 3 should suit it well, you will require the GWS-Glavak adaptor. Alternatively the Mejzlick 9x3 also from Electric wingman should work well

Hello Donatas... Any chance your friend can cut the pieces i need for a fee?

Sorry to be a bother....

(not the extra milling, just replacements with the standard milling for the parts I messed up)

I will see what can be done in order to help you out. Please send me picture of all damaged parts. With my friend it can be quite difficult. because his machine now working almost non stop, and to cut my planes he had to stop work for one day. I wish we thought about this earlier, this would be good decision for your problems.
