Donatas Design: Spies By Fabien Turpaud

This summer was bit crazy, I had to finish my college and after that many outdoor competitions (including Europe F3A championship). All these activities were time consuming to say at least. However new indoor season is almost here and we keep pushing new designs and preparing new kits. We are proud to present you the new Spies, F3P plane developed by multiple French champion and F3A team member Fabien Turpaud. Plane is covered with film that already have gorgeous color sheme printed on it. Colors are brighter than one we get on depron. I will be assembling plane next week and will share building pictures and setup. Also i will share all technical details, so far weight looks better than milled depron. Enjoy pictures:

Donatas, your timing is spot on! I've been looking for a F3P plane project and I definitively want to try this one.

Your Symmetric is also an excellent plane, why don't you make film covered version with new graphics from it too? I bet it would be a success as well.

Can you reveal anything about the dealer(s) yet? Will the new models be available from Autopartner.se or somewhere else?

Edit: OK, I saw some of the possible dealers printed on the plane, Autopartner was among them.

Hello guys, thank you for nice comments. I have two pieces of this prototype, one will be send to Fabien Turpaud and other will be build by me. We want to test it and see how new technology work in real life. Before presenting it to customers we have to be sure that it is right concept, and people won't be disapointed.

Few new planes are also coming in near future. Autopartner sure will be handling dealership in Scandinavian region once again.

Free, i can not say for sure about Fabien system, but as far as i know there are several new coaxial systems under development. On spies i will test on of them I am sure this year we will see much more coaxial systems winning major competitions. More info bit latter now im back to work.

Check out what's coming next

Let me guess: Since that is very much like Arrow V5 tail, it is Arrow V6 or V5.1?

Hey guys small update on weight, milled depron weight is: 46,9 and kit covered with film is 39,7g so 7,2g difference. Quite allot for today F3p standarts. With light equipment both versions can be build around 100g with no problem.

Another good advantage of mylar vilm covered plane is elevator hinge line, it is already done for you Just bevel edges and that's it.

Well, as i mention earlier Spies is really big plane with many aerodynamical parts, so bit more weight than average small plane is normal. Robin Trump is great guy, i had chance to talk with him in France Europe F3A champ this summer. He told Sirius Eleven is designed for F3A pilots to practice F3A sequences indoor. And Fabien plane prove to be hi level F3P machine for FAI sequences, in various competitions including IITOP and French championship.

Back to building Spies. My friend Ignas will join building thread with milled Spies building.
