Tried the APC 14x7 prop and didn't like it. Still thinking about what to do.

Losts of good tips on here. Just read the entire thread. My Devil
should be here friday, if not monday. I ordered the rtf version because
I have no 4-s batts. I also ordered an spare stock batt for the same
reason, to hold me over for alittle while. Has anyone used them?
Do OK? I don`t intend to use the provided radio on this plane.
(I will use it later on something lesser). My plan is to steal an AR-600
from a PZ P-47D Thunderbolt w/retracts, & use it w/a DX6-i. I can
relate pretty-much to all the tips/mods on here, but I`m still a little
unsure about the hairdryer/heatgun deal on the horizontal stabilizer.
Any & all tips appreciated. Maybe I will understand more, when I actually
have the parts in My hand? Also, does this plane actually have controll
surface hinges, or are they molded-in? I have Welders glue, etc.
Thanx for all the great tips, & an informative thread. Can`t wait!

Hey Scott,

Mine didn't need the hair dryer trick. My stabilizer looked ok to me, so I just left it alone. That may change after I fly it. Hinges are the foam molded one piece setup. No hinges needed.

Cool. Thanx Viper. Hey, I am kinda new here. I can`t figure out how
to subscribe to a thread? Am I a Dummy, or just missing somethiing
in front of Me?
I am hoping that quality has improved on these kits, but we`ll see. I`m
glad Yours didn`t need the "hair dryer trick". Now I`m even more excited.
Hopefully mine won`t either. I can do it,,,,,but I don`t want to, LOL.
Hopefully I can cut the battery in,,,& fly it,
Scott

Actually, once you post, that subscribes you so you should be all set. There's also a tab at the top of the thread that says thread tools...I think you can subscribe there as well. If you check it now that you've posted, it should say unsubscribe. Obviously don't but that's where you can also go.

Scott - I am one of the folks that did the heat-to-straighten on the horizontal stabilizer. I'm pretty sure that the plane will fly just fine without the heat-it-up, just be ready to do a bit of trimming, while in the air, on that 1st flight. I also think that inverted will require some stick pressure to stay level. That is why I did my heat/bend on the elevator part of the H Stab. I can fly inverted, hands off.
The plane has NO vices, a joy to fly. My 3DHS balsa planes have been 100% ignored since I got this.

I think NitroPlanes is yanking Me around. Was supposed to ship
UPS ground. I sent an email wondering when it would ship.
Shipping status now says FEDEX, & the tracking number is
invalid. Not Found. Not cool. Sometimes You get what You
pay for, I guess. Pretty bad service. On hold for now,
Scott

Hey Scott,

I'm pretty sure everything I've gotten from Nitro came Fedex. When did you get the shipping confirmation? I have found that it is usually not on FedEx's site until either late that night or the next day. A lot of times they print out the shipping label and it doesn't actually get picked up by Fedex until the next day. I wouldn't worry about it yet, they do take some time to get to you. I usually count on about a week and a half to get stuff from them. Their shipping kind of sucks....but planes are nice.

Thanx. But the e-mail I got from them shows UPS as then shipper.
Then, underneath it give a FedEx con-firm number. It was sposed to ship
next day, & we are pushin 3. Fed Ex number draws a blank. It`s prolly
all good tho. Thanx for the support. Just irritating.

PS I just got the shipping confirmation about 20 mins ago, but
it threw Me because I paid for UPS Ground, & the tracking # is
FedEx, which comes up as invalid. Tanx for chiming-in Viper.
It`s prolly all good,
Scott

Skyepuncher, don't stress on the shipping.

NP usually ships within 24 to 48 hrs. They have reimbursed me on shipping charges when they estimated them to high as well.

Nitroplanes has been a very reliable company with my dealings with them.

You'll get your Devil!
