Scratch build flying wing with landing gear
Based on the succesfull FZ2, which is thrown by hand and belly landed, the next step is taking-off from a runway.
For more about FZ2: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/member.php?u=271334
Only ONE wheel ...!
One nose wheel, which will be a steerable retract.
The winglets will be turned upside down, and will act as a trailing supports.
With the more powerfull engine (2W-30, 1600W with 6 cells) and the added weight of the nose retract, the wing is made larger till 1100mm span.
The engine has 50% more power, estimated end speed is 20% higher.
Sweep is reduced from 36° to 30°, this will make the wing less prone to stall and ease its flight for the pilot.
The flaps are made larger, in order to slow down some more that the FZ2. Although this nis not realy necessary.
Relative position of flaps and ailerons to the COG are kept the same.
Larger nose to accomodate the retract.
Motor and ESC moved backwards to counterbalance the retract and the heavier 6c LIPO.
Angle of attack during take-off will be 6°, knowing that wing stall starts at 6,5-7° with the RAE100 airfoil.
Anticipated weight will be around 1400gr.
Wing will be build from STYRODUR, covered with 50g glassfiber.
Fuselage made from balsa, also glassed.

I'm eager to start building, it'll take a few months to finish it, though ..
But first, I need to finish the MIG15, which has been lying around for a couple of weeks now, due to the good weather :-) lately.
