Was visiting my favorite LHS today and was handed a flyer by Larry the manager, weekly indoor flying every friday night from 10PM till 12AMI The site is in Buffalo Grove at the Buffalo Grove Golf Learning Center Dome, 501 McHenry Road in BG. The LHS has made arrangements to collect the admission in advance and a current AMA membership is required. Heard there was a whole squadron of Tiger Moths last Friday. The Mini IFO may get out of the rain and cold yet! Finally an indoor site near me!

Hi Del! No I have not, I work 6 days a week and need an after hours site. And 10:00PM is really after hours! The Venture guys tell me the dome has 75' ceilings, good enough for most parkflyers and excellent for microplanes. Don, the owner, has paid for the site through March 04 so it is available every Friday. Now I know why Venture Hobbies has so many Tiger Moths in stock!

From what I've heard, mostly folks fly what I'd call "heavy"
stuff at the golf dome. Maybe I'll stick a JMP RX on one of my
light models and go show those boys what indoor is all about..

Sounds good to me Del! According to Don and larry most of the planes a GWS Parkflyer types. But that's OK it gives the guys a place to fly the larger planes indoord in the winter. Smallest I have is a Tiny-X and a Mini IFO both IPS powered. No Micros, yet!

Gentlemen,

The Whitepines golf dome in Bensenville is also open for indoor flying. I dont know any of the particulars other than it's on Sat. night from 11PM to 1 AM.

I haven't been there yet but I was at the one in Buffalo Grove last Fri. Ididn't fly ( I'm kinda new to this yet,) but it was great. I'm told the dome in Bensenville is bigger than Buffalo Grove. I wont be able to go to either one for a couple of weeks do to work restraints .

Jim, a friend of mine went to the Bensenville dome and had a great time last week, crashed all his planes! He's a very good pilot outdoors. Even got his Tiny stuck on the wall.... All damage was minor and looks like he is going to the BG dome this friday. With all this wind my outdoor time is limited! I hate winter!!!

Jim and Pete,

Sounds like both the Buffalo Grove, and Bensenville sites
are going through the same thing that the Drop-In-Center
in Des Plains went through a year ago. That is, outdoor
park-flyers, moved indoors, trying to avoid smacking the walls!

At the Drop-In-Center we've seen alot less of that this season.
The park-pilots have gotten better. There's more FF activity.
And the number of folks successfully flying Bit-Charge based
models has grown from one, to two!
I stiill seem to be the only slow-flyer.
But it's a wonderful, diverse, and enthusiastic group.

OK, it's time a put a reciever back in the "Upsy Dasy"..

Hi Guys,

Sounds like you guys are in the know on this indoor stuff, thats great. My friend and I just started flying this year so you see we tied all our money up in planes to big for the domes. We really enjoy watching guys who know their stuff fly.

Work comes first so we're tied up till after the fifth of Dec. Maybe Santa will be nice and drop of a SIG Jenny or something like that, we'll see. Hope to see you guys in the domes in a couple of weeks. Till then
