Effective rate exactly 20.12% fed. Must be either stupid or honest cause i am now where near where that chart shows for my income level.

Four percent in '11; 1.12% in '10 and 0% in '09 because...

My credits/exemptions were a MUCH higher proportion of my income than Romney's (and likely yours). I was also unemployed for half of 2009.

Last year was the last year I was able to take the remainder of the 30% credit for a ground source heat pump and I have TWO kids in college at the moment. I also did a window replacement and got a percentage of taxes back from that investment.

I also refinanced our mortgage in '10 which reset the percentage of deductible interest I can deduct.

Next year my rate will go up substantially since I received a nice promotion; those energy credits expire and one kid graduates from college. The American Oppotunity Act (the college credit) was supposed to expire but was extended for 2010.

About 18 %, slightly lower than most hard working middle class.

according to the chart it should be around 8% ,realities of life closer to 12% of actual earned income this past year ...now that I'm effectively retired it should drop significantly as retirement income is somewhat lower..

I pay more than I want to.

Right around 20.

The solution to the inequity is the lower everyone's taxes.

Effective rate 18%. A little higher than Romney. Boy don't I feel rich. But then again I don't have a horse in the Olympics, nor could I afford to attend...

It is so simple really and just think it it were simple enough all the money we could save by not having the IRS.

Imagine how much we could save if we didn't have libraries!

Romney has stated he has never paid under 13%...sometimes more.

...FYI,Ryan has paid about 20%.

close to 20% I'm lazy and forgetful with out my better half don't keep up what with I give away etc pretty much just out fitted some 100 students in a local Parrish with back to school stuff and did't keep the receipt's..

Stupid is what Stupid does but then again i'm very liberal with my own money!
