Good looking build. Do yourself a favor and get rid of the metal hardware holding the motor mounts to your arms, and replace them with nylon nuts & bolts. You will save yourself the hassle of trying to find new mounts when you crash.

Tonight's scratchbuilding insanity brought to you by 30 gauge magnet wire. One phase down, 2 to go.

I wish I could do this, I really and truly do. Care to share where you purchased the wire and how you determined the KV? I have some 750kv motors and would like to rewire them to 1500kv.

Radio shack has a set of magnet wire for $9. I'm just rewinding to match the existing motors, but if I understand the theory right you would double the strands ( or use a thicker wire ) and half the turns.

I'm using the wiring scheme from this page since it appears to be what I took off.

My first phase took about 45 minutes tested ok ( no stator short ).

lol

External Power ? only as good as the length and the weight of the wire.
require heavy lift multirotor for this to work.

flight duration depends where you plug into.

Might be great for maiden flights with noobs. That will prevent flyaways.

LOL,

Actually, this is nothing to laugh at but it is a great novelty! There are some great applications for this.

not to mention if this is to be the permanent power method, the motors can lift other things!
