Dime Scale Micro RC?

I just recieved my Penn Valley Hobby Center catalog and was wondering if anyone has tried to RC any of the models in their Scale Flight Model Co. line. They seem, to me, to be ideal for micro RC. There are over 150 balsa wood kits that are reproductions of kits from the '30s and '40s. Most are in the 15 to 20 inch wing span range and cost $11 to $13.
Any success with any of these?

Here's a conversion in progress. It is a Dave Cowel kit (http://www.dpcmodels.homestead.com/) Albatross, 21" WS, CIrrus MJ Rx, 3 x Flacons servos, N-20, 2 x 170 LiPolys.

One of the guys I fly with has done a bunch of No-Cals with RFFS & 2 actuators and with Cirrus MJ Rx & 2 servos. They are quite nice fliers.

Dimescale planes should be quite do-able...

Hey
Here is one of my Dimescale rubber planes
it is from the Comet plans on Dave Livesay's site.
It is not very scale but dimers were not meant to be
really scale. Anyways I tthink that it would make a
great conversion. I have kept this plane in the hangar
till I learn more about trimming. I think it would make
a great flyer if I could carve the right prop for it and match up the rubber. It would be a nice aileron machine as it has no dihedral
but the first flight flew as if on rails straight ahead Luckily it was underpowered and didnt get too high I ran down the street after it. I think it would be a nice machine for M-20 and JMP or RFFS
Might even do ok with IR and a pagermotor.

Nice, Billy. Weere did you get the camoflage pattern? Did you print that on the tissue yourself? I made a pattern for the lozenge pattern, but I'm not too happy with it. It is too regular.

Thanks
I traced a printout from somewhere and then colored with magic marker so it is not very regular.

I gave up on printed tissue. I couldn't get it to shrink and not bleed. I went for decals.

You can get the Falcon's either from Falcon (http://www.falconmodels.uk.com/) or from Bob Selman in the U.S. (http://users.joplin.com/~bselman/). The Wes servos come from Sky Hooks and Rigging (http://www.microrc.com/). I'm sure others carry them as well.

I still need to add rubber shock cords at each axle and finish hooking up the ailerons.

I got them from Sam's in England (http://www.samsmodels.demon.co.uk). They say they are made in the UK, but they look a lot like the ones at WWW.cbox.cz/pbmodel
