About 5% less kv because of the longer rotor. (in the 16/35/xxE they use the rotor of a 16/40). Cool stuff!

Bill, hope you won't mind that I join your thread with the pics from Dalibor's build of the Viking 2 E LnS.

Motor mount with silent blocks finished! Weight increase just 4.5g
Vibrations reduced = much cooler motor sound ;-)

Has anyone already tried this motor?
Experience? Opinions?

I would want to fly with this engine for the time being 4S.

Sorry for the OT, but I see that your friend is using the YEP 100A in the viking. Do you know if it works OK? Just ordered one for a similar plane, an electrified Tanga F3F with a NEU 1509 2400 or 2700 (not sure...) on 6s and 17x13. Do you know if it's OK with a buffer NiMh pack like the YGE?

ON topic again; I've been in contact with Jiri and I have placed an order for the Viking 2E, but I have not decided on what version to get. Is the race version the one to get for electric only? I don't think I'll bring the viking to the slopes, I've got more beaten models for that.

A friend of mine has it in his Wilco/Hawk hotliner with a NEU 1509. I know that it works flawlessly up to 120A burst throttle on a switch. Thats the max current he put through. I think he will do some more tests with 4S next weekend.

I'm also interested in a Viking 2 race but 7 months leadtime is too much for me. My oppinion will change often I think .

Dalibor is pulling around 160A in burst mode from this YEP controller and no probs so far.

You can also get a regular one, it will be fine with power setups up to 3kW I guess. Race is stronger - for more powerful setups.

I was told it is already 8 months now and still getting longer and longer. If you are unsure you can place an order and cancel it later ... your slot will be taken by another pilot in the queue within minutes ;-)

I think I'll go with the race version at least. I was thinking that I might get the double carbon hard wings or something like that, but I think that might be to heavy combined with a high power electric drive.

The race version is OK up to 4-5KW, correct?

Regarding the lead time, it's actually perfect for me, I've got enough projects to keep me busy the next 7-8 months anyway;-)

I ordered the following:

Viking 2E in race version
Wing and V-tail covers

Coulor scheme should be as following:

Top of wings and v-tail all red only
Bottom of wings red with two white stripes on each wing
Bottom of v-tails red with one white stripe on each v-tail
Fuse all black

Colour scheme stolen from a Big Ceres that used to fly in Norway...

Let the wait begin!
