Battery is attached with Velcro. CG is set at 110mm. RX is moved farther from ESC. Rates are set to medium. Everything programmed. We are good to go.

The question is am I! This is heavy, the dogs better watch out, there's an Extra 330 about!

Rains clearing, suns out.
If the wind drops tonight she may get airborne.

Well the beast has flown. But shes not really a beast, shes a well mannered pussy cat!

Had a great flight. Little taxi and she was away. CG perfect, flew straight and true, no trim required as id counterbalanced the battery with about 1/2 oz for the offset battery.

Was quite windy about 10mph, but it handled well. Lots of power, was doing a lot of cruising on about 1/4 throttle. Did some loops, rolls, scrappy prop hangs, harriers, circuits and rollers. Nothing special, just getting used to flying a bigger heavier plane. I see what you mean about the flight characteristics, it has mass and momentum, and flys much better for it.

I took the 808 cam, and it worked. So will upload video later.

She went very well.

Im chuffed. I think i have a new favourite foamie!

And as a bonus she managed to fit in the car

Wondered if you'd manage to get it flown today. The weather up here was cold but great for flying. Shame I was working congrats on the maiden.

Thanks mate on the tip to get a telink. What a fantastic plane. And im sure ive only just scratched the surface of its flying ability.

Managed 15 mins on one pack. Now thats cool. Didnt fly another as i was happy with the CG so will cut the slot out and can remove that wing weigh next time.

Vid uploading as we speak, not a good one, just a scratch together of a few bits of the flying. Will post later.

Pics.

jimbo.... glad to hear it all went well for you at the field, and in getting the plane into your car to get TO the field. Grats on a sucessful build and maiden. It is a great airframe... I have been flying my 44" Telink Slick alot the past couple weeks, and having a lot of fun with it as well. Will dust the Extravaganza off here soon and spend some quality time with it again as well.

For anyone considering this model, there is a removable wing version if you need something that comes apart for transport.

Hey guys, I've been flying my Extra like crazy! However, I was doing a low and fast KE pass and it got a little to low...I ended up having a wheel go flying off into a black hole. I looked all over for it but couldn't find it! So I'm grounded right now while trying to find a new wheel. TH has the entire LG assembly for $20, but I'd hate to spend that much when I just need a plastic wheel. Do I have any other options?

I'm pretty sure this is what I use.

Basically the same wheels as most 48" ARF's use, just drill out the holes to fit the LG.
