The 78g motor gives about 350 watts or over 200 watts per pound. :-)

I'm using 1800 and 2200 mah lipos with flight times around 6mins and 11 x 4.7 slow flyer props and I'm quite happy with the plane's performance.

I know I've not flown an ExtraVanganza but I would have thought the motor that was originally packaged by Twisted and Park Aero to go with the Telinks would have more than enough grunt for it. It is on the light side but that could help with getting cog with heavier packs and it's a right little power house, look at the stats on the Twisted site. Maybe it's just that you like running a bigger prop. Has anyone tried it?

I need your help here guys, so what wattage motor/prop/esc do i need to get decent accelaration out of prop hangs?
I was comparing my Crack Yak and Pitts today, the pitts has a lot more power as it has a hyperion motor. Really noticed it today, as there was no wind. I want to get this right with the telink, Id rather spend a few more $$ to get more power, and get the performance i want.
Is the 78 or 100g motor gonna give me this?
Thanks guys.
I went with the 103 gram Torque motor, 12x6 prop and am completely satisfied. Using 1800 batts. Lots of power and is still very light on the wing. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the comments guys on motors etc.

Been doing a little digging checking out the specs. There seem to be a 70, 78 and 100 grams motor on the twisted hobbies site.

http://www.twistedhobbys.com/Brushless-Motors_c15.htm

Which is this one? Or it something different?

Im guessing that the 70g is for the smaller telinks ie 44inch.

Cody which do you have in your recent video?
Twisted Hobbys/Telink 48" Extra 330SC (4 min 24 sec)

It looks like ido has the 103g in this video?
TELINK new "ExtraVaganza" (7 min 22 sec)

Thanks.

the DualSky motor was on the airplane I flew in Japan , back home I have one with the TH motor , and one more with DUALSKY 73gram motor , all of them , have the some power.

Anyway I always fly my telink with the some prop(I match the prop to the airframe , and not the power setup) so I get the some results

Cheers

Got a wee problem. The extra won't fit in my car..

What do the aeleron counterbalances do? I'm thinking of cutting the wing at the counter balance edges. I know some of you fly with the shorter wing span to increase the roll rate.

Thanks.

Roll rate stay the same.

The drag the wing crate when you roll will not let it exceed the above certain roll rate , it have nothing to do with the size of aileron , or how much deflection you get only the total area and the moment/arm of the wing.
I often hear this on the giant scale ,"put more ailerons , you will roll faster ".. its actually true to reduce the amount of deflection to get more roll rate after higher speeds are achieved!

Leave the plane alone , it fly's better when its easier for the servo to move..

Ido ,

Maybe u can fold the front seat up or back.
Im sure u can get the plane in the car by position it at different angle.

I cut my wings down to 45" (spliced the counterbalances back in) and it flies great.
