Sample of aerial video with the Sony RX100

Anyone has some video footage they captured from the air with the Sony RX100? I like to see them so I can decide if I want to buy one.

I am interested in the ones mounted on a multi rotor or a single main rotor helicopter. Especially if you have the O.I.S. turned on.

Thanks in advance

Stacky and I both have RX100's. Stacky's first test is here:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...postcount=1146

I have new mount / multi issues and I'm not ready to share yet! Why show how bad it can be!!!

The 28mm isn't as wide of course as 24 and it shows. Saying that, I really like the natural look of the 28mm fov.
One thing that may be an issue for some is that the HDMI out is underneath the camera, right behind the tripod mount. Not impossible to deal with - just different.

No doubt Stacky and I both will have some good video soon. We are in winter here and the wind and rain sucks!

Gary has one as well.

I just wish it wasnt in the $600 price range.... I like my Nex-5n for ground shots and as a overall video and still shooter. that and I have the 55-210mm, 16mm and 18-55mm lens + filters and batteries for the camera....

I think the OIS looks like a real winner and would take my AG550 or AG700 and make them look "zen" like

Yes I found Gary's one. I saw some jello when I watched it full screen so I want to see more before plunking down the dollars.

The NEX 5N is a wonderful camera. I just can't find a good lens to match it. (not to mention I just lost it last week in some 10 foot tall grass) I do want a video camera in between the GoPro and the Nex 5N as a every day video camera to abuse. I thought the HXC9V would fill the need but that darn thing is so finicky.

For zen like video the PJ710V is hard to beat. I can stick it on any one of my machines and it will give me smooth footage.

Once you do, you won't look back. The trouble is I don't know how long the B.O.S.S. will last from our abuse.

yeah that is a good question.

The BOSS definitely works well with the camera on a shoulder rig, and it is fairly light weight.

do you just set the camera to only turn off when you hit the power button rather than the screen closing?

I flipped the screen around and it stays on. I guess I should go through the menu and set that up.

A test tonight with the octo and the RX100. 3200iso and 1/125 shutter-priority.

I have reduced them to 1800 wide but that way you can check out the noise. I have adjusted the contrast and (on the darker one) lifted the mid-tone brightness a touch.

Pete

woohoo... I can shoot at 1/125 on my octo!!!

Nice low light stills. Now if you don't mind getting some videos from the camera.

Ok... a few bumps but you will get the idea. the RX100 recorded in 1080p 50i (We get the PAL version down under) and I found out afterwards that "Steadyshot" was off. First half is tonight's video, the 2nd half was filmed a week ago when my quad crashed (with the camera). It was bumpy, the mount was unstabilized and the quad flew like a pile of dog turd! But... it is aerial video and that is what you wanted to see!

I had some problems with the youtube uploader on the large / better version. I'll put the large version on my Vimeo tonight.
