Yeah, that's the most fun that I've ever had in R/C IMHO. Just throwing the Binary 900 in the air whenever I wanted was like heaven

What happened to it?

Wing cracked in half, tail ripped off, too much hot glue used and it got stuck in a tree, pulling it out cracked the wing more really, and I never fixed it. Don't have it anymore, but I won't need to build a new one now either because I'm getting those really good quality ones for super cheap from a generous guy right here on RCG.

Yeah if you have the right slope conditions, most flying wings will slope, some not well... but hey...

The 900mm PopWing is a fine slope soarer from what I've heard too.

Dan just a tip, when you discus launch, try to throw it flat to the horizon, trying to throw it upwards wastes energy and stresses the airframe. Use a launch mode with 3 mm camber and a few clicks up elevator. You should be able to get another 10-20 feet

Yup unfortunately the 8J doesn't have any flight modes that you can program, however I'm sure that I can find a way to do that... IDK how though

And 3mm camber actually is worse, you want the ailerons level with the wing so that you can get the most speed and highest launch!

I can't understand slope...I just don't see how people stay in the air. I know, there's thermals, But still....

The wind going up the slope creates lift, and you can just hover right above it and move around.

Dan from my experience at contests, people use the up elevator and camber to rotate the plane up, and reflex and down elevator untill it reaches the peak. You want to rotate the plane as fast as possible and then cruise up. The camber is only for rotating the plane

Camber is also used for cruise and thermal modes, and float modes too... it's made to slow down the plane and gain lift at the same time

Yup. I use about 4 mm camber in thermals, but it depends on how strong the air is. That stinks about the 8j. Could you use seperate trims?
