Yeah another reason why I can't buy RF - my laptop has trouble enough trying to type these messages that my keyboard lags, LOL

I'm thinking the laptop is just running as a monitor for FPV.

It doesn't, that's another issue. It lags and can't keep up with the live video feed, and the recordings also show this in the glitches and stalls in the video so I think I will end up with a HoryzonHD and stick with 2.4 GHz.

I'm going to download the Phoenix demo, and see if it's any better.

well not me. as an example... glow engines use special fuel. that special fuel is 20$-30$ a gallon. a large plane needs a larger fuel tank thus useing up your 20$ fuel quicker. also glow engines dont have near the throttle response as a gas engine. note this is IMO.

Not sure how much a gallon is in litres but here a litre of 15% oil, 10% nitro, rest methanol, costs about 8 bucks. It takes me a solid day of flying to go through that with a .46 size motor. Idk about bigger tanks because i could fly 15 maybe even 20 with management on one tank. That tank is the stock one mind you. I do 8 minute flights and it only comes down to a bit above half. .60 size would be the biggest size id go for glow unless i was in the big comps and my fuel was sponsored because performance wise glow is way better than gas. There is a reason why dragsters use methanol as their fuel.

get the dx7s. The dx8 is WAYYYYYYYYY more expensive, and it dosent have that much more than the 7s. They look identical , except the dx8 has one more switch next to the Aileron DR switch and has the DX8 on on the front instead of DX7s. The only MAJOR difference is the fact that it has a couple more mixes, 10 more model memory and the backlight display (Which is really not nessecary unless you do A TON of nightflying. This is basically the truth right here LOL

Guys I'm definitely going to switch over to 5.8 GHz and use the built-in RX on my goggles. Soooo... for a while I won't be able to record but then once I get some cash to grab a HoryzonHD cam that records and does FPV at the same time I'll definitely record some video.

Do ultrabatics. Basically slope soaring 3d. Best of both worlds.

Imo-gliders get a little boring. No ailerons, it just doesn't do anything. Now If you made it a night flyer.....

Yippee! Just ordered some stuff exactly one month ago on September 4th, I made on order from HobbyWireless too.. interesting, very interesting... LOL, anyways, here's what I ordered:

Transmitter:

http://hobbywireless.com/index.php?m...roducts_id=522

Antenna (for transmitter):

http://hobbywireless.com/index.php?m...roducts_id=801

I like the way that antenna looks... and it's probably going to be really small, only 5 grams! I'm guessing about 2 inches maybe? Not sure, I'll find out paid for 2 day shipping so that I have it on Saturday!

Should be good for over 1 mile! We'll see how much interference I get from flying near trees and such... but mostly going to be doing LOS for a while. No way to record for now but I'll sell off all my 2.4 GHz FPV stuff and then buy the HoryzonHD to record for you guys!
