12' dc-10
Just a quick note: I went with a good friend Bill to help another gentelman fly his DC-10 a few weeks ago. I wanted to make note of it. The bird had twin 180's turnning 8200rpm. The owner's name is also Bill and he is about 95 years young. He wanted to fly this thing before he died. So we gave it a shot. My buddy and I hauled it to the field and set it up for him, time came and he wanted me to fly it and I said "Nope It's all yours" I handed him his raideo and gave him a quick nod and smile and told him he was all set. We did not taxi it for take off, instead we gave it full throdle and I held the tial, then let her go... off it goes banking right the pilot pulled it left and tried to turn her into the wind, but did not make it. (Full throdle into the ground) from about 50 feet or so. All I can say is he tried.
