Thanks Walt, I will have to look into bungee launching. It looks like it works good. I will have to find some plans. My flight club has a fairly new grass field that would be perfect for one, plus I fly by myself alot so I can see the benifit Your warbird fly in sounds fun, unfortunately the club I belong to only has a couple of events per year, there is an electric club about 30minutes from here that I am going to look into. Where is the F4 vid? I am trying to find it

Nice F4 looks like it flew really well. However I think I would have gone up and conducted a Stall test, to see the slow flight capabilites and how the stall will behave. Every landing is proceeded by "Slow Flight" and eventually a stall right at touchdown. It looked like you tried to land it about 30 knots too fast. Post some finished pictures when it is done.

Do you have any plans for the F4?

Yes, a bungee launcher I must have When I watched the video before I was only paying attention to the plane, this time I took note of how nice the launch was. That will definately help when flying alone.

Started putting together the F-18. I hope my motor selection will work. It only spins 6x4 prop but at 40amps and nearly 380 watts it has scream ability on the test stand. I use a 2212/6 BP (3600kv) with a 6x4 prop on my Skyray and it performs very nice. This motor (4200kv) should give a little more, I only use full power on climb out I usually fly on 50-70 percent throttle. I like to see the plane fly past me. I keep everyone posted on the outcome. Should be flying in two weeks.

I have thought about running a 2200 in mine, just havent tried it yet. With the 1600 I have it placed all the way up into the nose to get my CG. if I use the 2200 that would help with balance but add weight. You should have no problem with the power setup you are running. I cant remember the exact numbers on the V3 as far as amps and watts. But the sytem you are using is putting out higher numbers.

When I had it set up in my test vise. I fired it up to full throttle and it scared me, I stepped out of the room and watched it through the door window. It was blowing dust, papers and even shop rags around the room. So I am hoping for good performance.

That should be good. Mine came out heavier than I wanted, with 3s 1600 mine is right around 26oz.(still flies fine) I screwed up when finishing and used the wrong primer. I used a high build primer. Next time I will use another coat of WBPU/talc and sand it down if needed and definately skip the heavy primer. I believe I could shave 4-6 ounces on the next one.
