dynam sonic 185 battery upgrade

so i have this sonic 185 glider on the way, i ordered a 7.4 battery, and after it had shipped i noticed the battery said for Car ! crap ! so im wondering can i use a 11.1v battery, plane has a 30amp esc,so what would i have to change to use 11.1v ? if not ill just order a different 7.4v battery. whats different between a car and a plane battery ?

answered my own question. searching forums i see some folks are using 11.1v batteries, they say not to keep full throttle for long periods as motor will heat up. Its a glider so full throttle isnt needed But if a guy went with say a 45 amp esc would that not keep the motor cooler ?

Wouldn't keep the motor cooler. Might keep the ESC cooler. I fly my 185 with 11.1volt battery

Replaced the stock 30A ESC with 50A, using 3S 2200mah with no evidence of motor overheating.

Good deal, i read alot of guys replacing with at least a 40 to 45 amp esc, so ill get one coming, runs fine with the 11.1v 2200mah i put in it.

I fly mine with a 3S and stock ESC. I rarely go full throttle, though. The wings flutter a bit too much for my taste when I try and fly it like a hotliner

Maiden flight today ! Just flew perfect ! no trimming at all,1600mah 11.1v battery got little hot and only flew for like 6 minutes, so im ordering bigger esc and a 2200 11.1v battery. But i am very happy with this sonic, lots of power and floats like a hummingbird ! Now i did add some weight to tail end,and 4 small wood screws in right wing to get it to balance, i did that in my kitchen
