Multiple crashes on DSM2 (different club members)

Spectrum analyzer has been used to try to find a source
I have hours of logs but no conclusion.

Hence your contentions are ad hominem, at best.

Where are you going to get yourself a 3-legged cat, Tom? Adopt one, don't make a new one!

Did you do battery depression tests -under loads ?
Did you do std range checks using full model rotation -checking for nulls?
were the models using BECs?
were these checked?
Honestly I doubt you encountered conflicting frequencies. as you noted no conclusive data for interferrence
I hate to sound like an old record -but power loss due to battery depression is an issue which is possible -and sometimes ignored when post mortum shows battery was "good".
The depression check requires a good meter and appropriate loads to really check all components .

DSM2 was isolated as the issue (including DSM2 with Sat. Rx's )

In a number of cases ONLY the Rx was changed to another system
No further Lockout crashes experienced (so No Rx supply problems)

Two of my close friends have recently deserted Spektrum DSM2
(one had a TRex500 Lockout within 50ft ! )
and other Club members are showing a major interest in other systems.

Fasst and FrSky are taking over here
we have zero problems with them.

This Club has around 50 members ,rarely do more than 6 - 8 fly at once
never mind 40 + at a contest event.

I will say. whatever our field Interference issues are
Only DSM2 is affected, other systems are NOT affected.

I'm happy some of you have no issues with DSM2
but some do . you should not discount that

Interesting. I don't know enough about FrSky or Fasst to comment. In fact, I don't know why Futaba is offering multiple non-compatible systems.

At least Spektrum is backwards compatible (and I do like ModelMatch)

No one discounted anything, including your credibility: we merely took issue with your generalizations which contradicted our experience.

So, you ask, "Who is 'We?'" Well, I guess you will never know....

Spektrum offers good backwards compatibility for DSM2 for now, but they did throw DSM/Ar6000 users under the bus with the release of DSMX.
The FASST/S-FHSS deal is to offer a more affordable option for sport flyers. As time goes by, more of the upscale Futaba transmitters will support the S-FHSS format, which will be important for when the Futaba TX ready models from Hobbico hit the market, as they're supposed to be S-FHSS. Why the 6EX and 7C are still available beats me, when you compare them to the new T6J and T8J S-FHSS radios.

Ahhh the joke called Spektrum or as I call it SPEKCRAP never ever again!!! Lost ziroli 118" B-25 on a DX7 after that brown out I sent it in for repair was told nothing wrong they sent me a new rx. I then put it in a cheap foamy lost it first flight less then 100 feet out, after that I smashed the DX-7 and RX and gave it a viking funeral!!

I saw last month, a lot of former Spektrum users flying with Futaba 4YFs.

For better security, they gave up a lot of great Spektrum features for a transmitter that looks like a piece of junk. Nevertheless, there were no issues.

Nup, just a statement of fact.

It is my opinion that your contentions regarding the design are not based on your experience, training, education, skill or knowledge, but hey, I could be wrong.
