Why did Ford introduce the A versus the earlier T?

Why does any manufacturer continue to improve a product?

I usually means nothing other than "better," not that the earlier product, often then state of the art, was poorly designed.

Only 2 operating freq's on DSM2 IS a flaw

More bandwidth use (DSMX) will greatly help
interference rejection.

more fog.

No, more long knives....

2 were state of the art, then, so your contention begs the question.

No, thast is not correct, the DSM2-system is not a flawed system, it works correct ........ if the user follows the instructions of onboard-voltage-stability, if he uses the adequate receiver (I have seen many parkflyer-rxes build in full-range airplanes....... of course, normally this might work, but .......) and, if he follows the instructions of holding his tx the right way (I have seen many users with tx-antenna pointing to the model) and, if he installs the rx antenna right.

Of course, flying DSM2 on really crowded areas with a lot of other pilots using spektrum DSM2 is not a good idea, but for all other normal circumstances the DSM2-system is a good working system, even here in Europe with only the half transmitting power.

What you describe is really technical stuff, true, but irrelevant for all us normal pilots. Either a system works ..... or it doesn't work, why it works is irrelevant.

Otherwise WHY was DSMX introduced ?
Because of the situation in Europe and the rest of the world: The DSM2-system will not fulfill the new regulations (introducing from now on, there is a time, when the older systems can't be sold anymore, I don't know the date, but this date will come up, that's for sure). That was the only reason, why spektrum had to introduce the new hopping system called DSMX, nothing else.

I wonder, how uninformed the people are, but nevertheless they think, they now everything.

Udo

P.S.: I am using DSM2 only for my indoor-flyers, outdoor I use HiTEc Aurora, but many of my club-members using spektrum DSM2 for all their flying stuff.... no specific problems with that system so far.

I'm also sad that Spektrum and JR
are no longer involved.
Spektrum have lost JR's many years experience building Tx's
perhaps that's why you see the issues now with Spektrum Tx mechanics
and quality control .

.
But -JR and Spektrum do still interact -Just not in a manner you, as likely a non user can see.
Being a JR user since early 1980's -I am familiar with their equipment. Also being aSpektrum user since they came out - I am familiar with their equipment.
Early Spektrums were built on JR hardware.
Early JR 2.4 stuff was based on Spektrum technology-
Plenty of interaction--and itcontinues
If you use Spektrum (do you ?) you would see common points
As for QC - I have no issues with the Spektrum stuff (I have a 5 an 8 and an 18)
More plastic ? Is that it ?
Look around - it is common in all mfg-including cars --Toyota has new plastic platform in the works -seriously. And you can bet yer arse it will work.

Do I miss the old approach to hardware - In some respects yes ( I have an '84 MB turbo diesel which after over 20 odd years in the family, is still like new) but I really like the new lighter weight tx - -I really did not care for the weight of the old JR stuff . Like the MB , durable but obsolete by current standards.
The DX8 is my most used radio - -easy to use and light - =one hand holding for launching is very easy .

Now we are getting down to the nitty gritty-
Do you have any documented info on why these lockouts occurred?
My opinion: If you cannot pinpoint the component failure -you really don't know why a lockout occurs .
Mystery lockouts are worthless info----

Once again --The less one knows about an issue - the more the the issues become clouded .
As noted Japan could NOT use the same system we use in the USA.
Power levels are also an issue in other countries -so each system has to comply.

Lockouts don't just happen - they are caused . I have too many years in professional accident investigation to accept the ---- happens approach as an answer.

What possible relevance is Japan, where they emote as often as not in such matters?

While your views aren't "isolated," they do seem to be based on prejudice or passion, not reason, and they do tend to inflame those of us, here.

I hear a dime dropping...if there is no one there to hear it, does it make a "noise?"
