Alternate Battery for a Zig Zag 3
We got our 8YO a ZZ3 for his birthday. He loves it but we are disappointed by the run times(7-8 min he runs it flat out). Is there a battery available that can extend the run time? He is perfectly happy with the speed the supplied 7.2V battery supplies, but the 7 min runs with a 1000MA, not so much. Suggestions?

A couple of options.
Get a peak charger that will recharge your battery in 15 or 20 minutes. They are not expensive. Then get another battery or two so you can have one running, one cooling off, and one charging. The boat will need to cool off once in while also, but at least it's closer to being non-stop instead of a days planning for seven minutes on the water.
Convert to Lipo (lithium polymer) battery. This option will give you longer run times, but there is much more involved with managing the batteries. And they require special chargers. I would think that your son is not ready for this unless you are also into r/c and have Lipo packs around.
Do a search on Zig Zags or Reef Racer and look for upgrade threads. The Reef Racer is very similar.
