Hello Gert,

I have exactly the same setup on my Pike Perfect and love it too.
You will notice the CFK 19x8 is almost 25% better performance then the graupner 18x10.

I'm flying mostly at 1450m above sea level and it reaches 250m in 20 seconds with a fresh 40c TopFuel 1360mAh.

Cheers!

André

You can also watch the Facebook group "FXJ Forum" where most of the Euro F5J pilots hang out with news and discussions on the comps there.

Hi Gert and Andre,

thanks for the information. I do belong to the Facebook group you mentioned Gert, it is a good way of getting competition reports etc. quite fast.

A friend of mine is going to a F3J competition in Slovenia this month, I'll get the electric fuselage (+ a 4m Xplorer2 )when he gets back.

I think I'll copy your set-ups, they seem to be up to the task. Have you tried the planes with ballast installed yet?

Wow!!

I can hardly believe that my E fuse on my 3.5X2 wings fully loaded and ready to go weighs in at 67 oz!!

I still have to add connectors and some velcro here and there, but at the max it will get up to 68 oz. To put this into perspective, my friends first gen 3.5 X st weighs 69oz. NON E!

I can't wait to fly this thing!

It has a small neu 1105 with a 4:1 gear box and 1300 mah 3s lipo with a BEC.

Balances just fine by moving the battery around, no need for tail weight. I know it's a smaller motor than what most people run, but I am also carrying 10-15 less ounces.

If anyone is interested I was able to test fly my X2 with the E fuse today.

Neu 1105/2.5 4:4 gearbox
13 x 10.5 prop
1300 mah 3S pack
Castle lite 75
Castle BEC
67 oz rtf

Climbed about 70 degrees out of my hand and reached 200 m cutoff in about 15-20 seconds

I flew for 10 minutes on the timer without re starting the motor. The plane flies just like the pure sailplane version, I can't really tell the difference.

After I landed I charged the same pack again and it only took 350 mah, so I had 950 left. I would say that is a pretty safe setup for contests with 10 minute rounds.

Looking forward to Visalia.

Yep more or less spot on with the same results we have experienced! Now why would I ever want to carry a winch again or plead for tow men to run!. This is the way to go for future gliding.
Cheers

I wouldn't go that far! I'm still a purest at heart! I will give this E thing a shot, especially if we can get more contests, just one more class to fly.

I have no idea, I just installed all the stuff and flew. I'm not really an E guy.

I can tell you that the esc and battery barely get warm.

Hello guys,

I'm a member too of this F5X group and coming from Greece.

We're flying F5J the last 4 years and we developed our own altimeter with the known alt & time limiter.

I'm expecting my new Xplorer 2 F5J in the next week and found these informations here quite fruitful !

I think I'll go with the Reisenauer SetUp 2221.10, 18x10 CFK and a Turnigy ESC, servos Futaba S3150 x 6 and a Futaba 6208HS receiver.

Greeting to everybody !

Tasos

A quick question, are the batteries removable from the fuse? Am used to flying e helis that I can fly, land, wait for the motor to cool, strap another pack on and fly again. With multiple packs, 3-4, you can fly, charge, cool and have the next pack ready to go when you're ready (assuming you're not having 2 hour air).
