Lawmate RX picture has shadow effect

Is this normal for the lawmate or is there something wrong with mine? I get much better range from my lawmate vrx without saw filter upgrade, than my sunsky vrx with saw filter upgrade (but the sunsky picture is crystal clear).... Its just that this shadow effect really sucks... Can I fix it, or its just a bad unit?

I took the picture with my cell phone, ignore the other lines... I circled the shadow effect problem...

I have four, they does it all. It is incorrect video level. I could correct by raising input impedance of my display device, but finally decided to ditch lawmate entirely and go with RMRC rx.

So how do I fix it? Will the saw filter upgrade do anything for the picture or no? I was planning on doing the saw filter upgrade on the lawmate too, but I didn't when I saw the bad picture..

The SAW filter won't help. I removed the SMT 75ohm resistors from the EE station and replaced by 1K ones. People rave about lawmate, so I searched the issue elsewhere hitting my head against the wall... until I put them in a drawer.

I dont want to mod my EagleEyes. How do I fix this on the lawmate rx? Resistor somewhere? I think I read someone used a 39ohms resistor... Do I put it on the ground wire or the signal/video wire or between them?

Yep, looks very similar, object that are further away look even more messed up with that shadow effect on the lawmate rx... We need to fix this.

I'm using an effio-p camera, one of the best ccd out there... 700TVL, perfectly focused... The lawmate does it with any camera and any 1.2ghz vtx on any channel...

Well it's good to find the real problem. I was going to buy a new lens for this. Btw I'm using 2.4ghz lawmate with 8 channels and an LCD.

Why would they ruin the RX? How can I get it working clearly with my LCD? Should I send it back to the dealer?

So I find an "smt 75ohm resister" in my LCD and replace it with a 100? Can that be easily done with a soldering iron?
Can the LM rx be modified?
Shouldn't we all send them back to the distributor as defective?

If you're confident with your soldering skill, look for a 75ohm resistor close the input connector of your LCD. The resistor is not marked so you have to use a ohmmeter. It will be shorting the RCA connector of your LCD. Removing and solder a normal 1K resistor directly on the input connector. Best is to solder a 1K pot and tune it for best viewing experience.

what about using other vrx, will we have to switch back to a 75ohm resistor, or will the 1000k resistor still work well with other video inputs?

Every manufacturers have a different definition of output/input termination and video level standards, not counting great variation among same model. This probably account for a appreciable % of the problems we see on this board. That's why I suggested the 1K pot, so you can tune for every Rx you have. For example, one of my 2.4 lawmate Vrx output 0.5V p-p (half the standard) while my other 0.7V p-p.

Thanks Hugo. You wouldn't happen to have a link to such a resistor on eBay or such?
