Close call Dan! I'll bet your pucker factor went up 25%! I'm pretty happy with the scale way it flies with the stock prop and a 4s battery. I wonder if the higher performance battery and larger prop put extra torque on the firewall and broke it loose? Anyway...I'm going to reinforce mine now. Good luck!

Oh, my mistake. I thought you were running the stock ESC...you were using a 50amp.

The sputtering was when I first applied throttle on a first flight of the day but it did smooth out and flew great! The motor didn't get hot on me either. But I'd say in the last 10 flights the sputtering got longer before it would finally quit and I could fly. It never did the sputtering during flight. Even when I would chop the throttle and throttle up again like during loops or stall turns!
I rarely exeeded 1/2 throttle either which kept her cooler, I'm sure! I did do alot of rocket take-offs and some verticle climbs.
The weight sure was nice in windy conditions where as a 3 celler just wouldn't cut the mustard and I will miss that!
I am looking forward to the next 100 flights flying like the real thing tho!

The clear gloss polycrylic by minwax is superb on the waco....I gave it three coats with a foam brush and it is sweet. I liked it so much i gave a few coats to my HS-123 as well....it really makes these planes stand out from the rest......Painted or non painted foam surfaces just come out looking like a new paint job.

Happy landings

Yeah, I'll be needing to replace all the rocks in my rock garden when this wind is over...they're scattered all over the yard!

new lights

Plan on replacing led's. Purchased kit from HeadsUp. Other than the red and green wing tip lights and the two white landing lights, does anyone know if there were any others on the plane? Have 2 white strobes and 2 red slow flashing to use if I need them.

The wind came up on me too soon yesterday but today is supposed to be descent
Found two Thunder Power 3S 6000mah packs in series from my old Fok Dr1 and split them!
Should give me at least 15min in the Waco!
Will report later ;-)

That's P/O Jumbo. He got kicked out of the 1/12 scale P-47 group for being the wrong size. Demoted to flying trainers.

I put the PC on before I applied the decals, so it was a dry hard surface. On another plane, I did the same thing and then coated over the decals...but those were Callie Graphic decals, and they are vinyl.

Ken, on my Mustang and my Zero I used Polycrylic Spray, right over the decals and everything. Absolutely no mishaps or damage of any kind.
