The way it's balancing at the moment I might take the whole rear section off the tail. At the moment it's balancing out with the flight pack right over the CG point.

I'll be using this quad as an FPV basher. Maybe with a #16 keychain camera with a wide lens if I plan to pull of something worth showing off later.

It's nice and quick running a 4S 2650mah and rctimer 750kv motors spinning 8x4.5 props.

Thanks for sharing the design Nick_P!
Looks really good!

The only thing I would add would be a few more spacers for added rigidity of the frame. Other than that looks great, and I am glad you like it.

how do those rctimers run on 4s? any overheating issues? have you run them w/ 10-11" props on 4s?

Thanks,

Hey Bob,
The rctimer motors come down nice and cool. They are spinning 8x4.5 props. I'm using the 750kv version on 4s and preflashed rctimer 30A ESCs. Only went 4s as I had a couple packs here that I use in edfs but it feels a lot more lively than a 3s tricopter. Although that could be because its a fair bit smaller.

thanks, i have some of those motors and instead of getting new motors, i may just get some 4s batts and run the 8x4.5 props. what is the weight on that quad?

Mine as it is in the picture is about 600grams -that's frame, Rx, motors, esc's and props.
Battery is a bit over 300grams.

So by the time I have the fpv gear on and a separate 3s to power the camera and Tx it should be around the 1kg mark.

Ok! I think this is it!

Buzz_Man, the .ai files will probably be useless to you unless you have a laser or CNC equipment. If you want jpegs to print for making templates, I'd encourage you just to use Nick's plan packet. The jpeg picture I posted above will help to see which holes go on what plate is all....

Thanks Nick_P for the design and your detail video on the set up. A flyin buddy just cut the frame using 2mm G10. Will start building the unit this week.
