3A BEC, nobody's perfect. At least it's a switcher.
Headzuprc has a 100 amp with a 6 amp sbec:

The specs on both look good. It looks like the only real difference is the BEC spec. Oddly, the 100A opto is $4 more than the one you have.???!!
I always use a ferret ring on all my ESC's, too.

Hey, that one looks VERY nice, robschonk! Lots of handy features, and I especially like the 6A BEC! It frankly looks better than the one I'm using... though I haven't had any problems with mine yet, to be sure.

That's what I get for not looking around more. :-\

I am now building my SSS..got it as a ARF..

it was easy to separate the 2 half's by using a xacto knife to start at the motor pod and using a pair of small pliers as a wedge then cutting the cheap glue strands..with slow work ..it came apart perfectly..

now I want to fill the inside with my FPV gear but want to test fly too....
don't want to glue it back together..so I thought Id show you guyz a trick
I've been using to fix damaged foam stuff with..
can I upload several pics to show the process?
tkx

Now you people that get the SSS are now warned. Before you fly this plane check the fourms and do the fixes the rod for the elevator is too weak it will bend and U will crash. You need to replace the cheap rod before you try to fly this thing. check the blogs for the SSS to see what else has to be done to make this flyable.

how to fix foam screws

Heres my trick to fixing those torn wing assemblies and how to add screw in bolts for anchors..

descriptions are shown when you point on pics..

Description: these are the anchors..they make different sizes...these work best for most..also there are different ones but they don't screw in..the screw in ones hold best.

Size: 149.7 KB
Description: cut the tips off to expose the hole..that way they don't y open..its for in a wall..it will ruin the foam.

Size: 138.8 KB
Description: use a pointed object to punch a hole through..be careful and make sure it s at 90 degrees to the foam..I use a Phillips screw driver.screw

Description: the anchors will screw in with a screw driver ..becarefuf not to go through..if there is only a little foam to work with..how thick...you can cut the anchor down smaller.

Description: here it is seated in the hole side of the SSS. when your happy with the fit back out and glue the anchor and screw it back in..wait till the glue dries.

Size: 139.8 KB
Description: dont use the screws that come with the anchor kit there to big..for these I used a 6-32 machain screw .. you can use a small pan screw ..just ck the fit before you tighten..it may breakout the foam before it is secure..test fit different ones..

Description: these what it looks like..you can counter sink the head and also where the washer fits against the foam ..coat with epoxy to give it a harder surface to set to so as to not damage the foam when tight..

this way you can take it apart to redo any thing..
hope it helps ya

Eventually I want to move it back under the wing, directly below the motor pod (still attached to the outside of the fuselage) where it belongs. With the present 5s 4000mAh battery, that makes it tailheavy. When I put the newly-arrived 5s 5600mAh battery in the nose, hopefully that will make everything balance out.

P.S. Ever seen a LiPo with ** 8ga ** wires? This 5600mAh had them.
Why don't you put it on a 3 foot string and pull it behind the plane.

I would also like to know what prop is safe to use with the stock motor and 4s battery. I have the align 70a esc (switching) and a 5a external sbec, stays nice and cool.

What happend to the sky surfer to make it self destruct?
