Rising with water, blasting with air compressor, then dry with a hair dryer on full heat (not heat gun!) will do the trick. For your bearings, if they are gritty when you spin them, you may have to soak then in denatured alcohol in an ultrasonic cleaner to get them smooth again. Don't forget to apply bearing oil to the bearings.
.....this is fairly standard procedure for anyone running RC buggies. But sometimes WD40 works better, but there are 2 schools of thought around WD. |

Thanks guys,
Yes the bearings are gritty so I might have to take the motors apart somewhat. I also forgot to mention the the dust is red due to the iron so yes it sticks to everything metallic. I'll try the wash and dry and see how I go
