Hi David

Oh, that made me laugh, just a small solitary tree and all that open space.

And here's Borris (don't laugh he had to be called something ) he also has cartoon proportions like your C-119. He's definitely built for comfort and not speed.

Here is a link to a Google Maps view of the field.

http://goo.gl/maps/9UyWI

It's about a mile from my apartment... a jewel in the middle of urbanity.
My current employer, BAE Systems, owns the property and the buildings to the southwest.

The tree in question is in the southern corner. It's not very tall and I was unable to gain altitude... needing more down thrust.

I had a good flight tonight, after increasing the aileron expo to 35%. I'll add the wheels to finish it out and have my son video a flight for me for me. Then, I'll call this one "good".

Between high winds... now a hurricane... and the nonavailability of my camerason I'm still waiting to make a real Cartoon C-119 flight video.

The last time I flew her, my hat cam stopped recording.

Yes, all is good... cold, raining and windy. Here's what it looked like a couple of hours ago, looking out of my apartment.

Hi Joe,I guess Chicago Is the Windy city.30 mph is normal?Wow,here around Detroit I think 5-10 as an everyday wind speed.I find flying in the wind fun too,as long as it is somewhat constant in speed and direction then you can anticipate a little better.I use a cane and have a hard time walking, needless to say I havn't even left the house since this wind started.Right now it's blowing around 30-huge storm eh.

My prayers go out to our flying friends who were hit by Sandy and i hope they all are well. I use to like flying on real windy days but my age and poor eye sight has turned me into a fair weather flyer and motorcycle rider also. joe
