If you are using a Spektrum TX with the Orange RX then let me make a suggestion. The Ares Gamma 370 is a great 37.8" wingspan high wing trainer that is about $80.00 in the ready for receiver model. The Gamma will get you flying with a minimum of cash outlay. The Gamma can also be upgraded to a full brushless power system and to an aileron 4 channel wing for about $70.00. It is available only from Hobby Town.. The plane in the photo above is NOT a beginner plane despite the advertisement. The wings have virtually no dihedral and it will not have self righting tendencies. Go with a 3 channel high wing trainer with a lot of dihedral as your first learning plane.

Heat failure esc f4u

Hi I am readying my pz f4u 44" for maiden.
The esc and battery share the same hole behind the firewall
If the battery is too thick it will prevent airflow over the esc.
In addition to that, there is no way for cooling air entering from behind the propeller to exit the fuselage, again presenting an opportunity for over heat.
I have put in a belly exhaust port behind the trailing edge of the wing of about the same square area as the inlet. The exhaust hole is shrouded by a "scoop" opening to rearwards to facilitate air extraction.
I have used eflite escs before and they , surprisingly , have never failed even after over-driving them
Hope this helps.

This thread is for the Tower Hobbies F4U, not sure why you are posting about the Parkzone model.

I found that the 3 bladed prop that comes with the new Tower Hobbies F6F Hellcat fits the TH Corsair as well. I am going to try it on my F4U this weekend.

GWS 10x6x3 props are very inexpensive. I just got the Hellcat, looks good can't wait to fly it!

Don't expect much. The GWS HD 9x7.5 is many levels better than the 10x6x3. I have tried that on the Corsair and I am back to the two blade.

Actually, the 3 bladed prop on the TH Corsair works great. She is actually able to fly slower with it than with the 2 blader; I'm no speed freak so I like to fly all my planes scale. Sounds awesome too. I did have the Parkzone 3 blade prop for the PZ T-28 Trojan on her for a while and that worked great too. I love these TH models. A couple of the guys at the field liked mine so much one showed up with the new TH F6F and another with the TH F4U. I have the Mustang as well. Excellent models all. BTW - The TH 3 bladed prop is made by GWS.

Excellent review ryamZ. That is exactly how I find my TH F6F to fly.

I was not happy with that combo (the GWS HD 10x6x3). Went back to the 9x7.5 the next outing. Didn't try the Parkzone 3 blade but was afraid that would draw far too much juice.
