I've flown a pusher model, the Cloudsfly, and the motor is tilted to give down-thrust
My motor mount came pre fitted, I am guessing that it's what you call up thrust unlike the bixler and floater jet where the motor pushes down towards the planes fuselage.

flying wings have no thrust angle the motor should be strait inline with the nose but i dont know how this Z-84 is as i dont own one
Like Gazza said most wings with a motor in this position have a straight thrust line, but that being said, this planes is designed different and flys well with the thrust line it has.

Okay, looks like the manual is correct as it is, then.

Prop pointing downwards, forcing the trailing edge up, and nose down... seems strange to me at first.

Yeah I have reservations as well but it flies well with the 24gram 3000kv outrunner on 3s.

Hey Gazza I will try and get some data on the weekend with rcspeedo, yes it will be interesting, others have said that the 4.1 is the one. I have 4.5x4.5 and 4.75x4.75.

My z-84 is on its way, and I'm planning to set it up with the 24gram 3000Kv motor, planning to use 1300, or 1800mah 3s. How long flight times have people been getting on this set up? And will the weight still allow nice glides and maybe thermals? Thanks.

I am using the 24g 3000kv and it is a good combo, to thermal 1300's would be the best and 1300 gives the CofG, even 1800 don't seem to change the CofG.

Haven't timed flight times but at a guess it is 5-6 at wot, even more if you use throttle management.

Lol great mod, was a fast and furious couple of mins of flight on a 2200 mah pack, but I would rather stick with the prop set up and get longer duration, I put a 2200 pack in mine yesterday but that made the flight to long so I landed well before the pack ran out.

Yup, just the way I like it. Have yet to get a reply from "junglegym" though. Guess till I get more info from him, I'll go with a pusher setup first.

Down thrust on motor mount

All Z84 owners will seen the downthrust in the motor mount, with the motor inline with the CofG this surprised me. In highspeed level flight it doesn't seem to be a problem, but in a high speed dive at wot I noticed it was starting to dive steeper, I had a similar problem with a F27c Stryker once, due to the up thrust in the motor mount it won't pull the nose up at high speed, so it would be interesting to reduce the down thrust and see if this changes this effect?.
