This plane doesn't need a lot of thrust to fly, I often kill the power and glide at times, one guy claim it was out gliding his bixler ?.

Hi,
I just ordered Z-84 kit and 2826 2200kV and have a question to you:
What lipo do you use?
(I have Turnigy 3S 2200mah 40C)

About servos: I have Tower Pro SG-90 9g 1,8 kg/cm speed 0,12 s/60degrees
Stock servo in PNF version is CYS S0009 - 9g - 1,5kg
So Tower Pro SG-90 seems to be ok?

I used a Turnigy Nanotech1300mah 3S 30C ... on mixed throttle ... I get about 5min flight time with 50% left on battery. Pretty darn good ...

Don't think you need to fly it on WOT for much ... it's just too fast and frantic.

Balances ok ... suggest placing battery right at the front of the cavity (might have to cut out some foam at base and under cover to allow 1300 battery to fit.

Thank for infos. Maybe in this situation (frantic on WOT as you wrote) I choose to big motor? (2826 2200kV) When packge from HK I will see
I have kk board so maybe I will use it with OpenAero software to stabilize Z-84.

It doesnt need a kk board. The Z84 is very stable as long as you keep the CofG forward lol ask me how i know

Agreed ... don't think it need gyros ... and a KK board would probably not fit anyway ... I know, I have one.

Just need to lower the rates on elevator to 50% and put some EXPO ... like 60%.

Lot's of fun ... both EDF and Push Prop versions fly very differently ... I think the Push Prop has more fine flight control due to the torque.

Well guys, I'm sorry to tell you that the KK does fit... I been flying with it for two weeks now...
Was a little tricky to get the CG right but works...
I have to agree that the wing is pretty stable in normal conditions and you wont need it... but it makes a hell of a difference with gusty winds.
Anyway I install it on the Wing Wing not because is a nice platform to test the Openaero.

Cheers!

So you move the point of a CG forward or you just oryginal CG point but move battery forward to make nose more down?

I flight on Turnigy 9x transmitter so you set up ELEVON on 100 and then EXPO 60% and DR 50%

AIL1 -100 / -100
ALI2 -100 / -100
ELE1 -100
ELE2 100

or ELEVON on 60 and than only DR no 50%?

AIL1 -60 / -60
ALI2 -60 / -60
ELE1 -60
ELE2 60

WIND - it is a point
(we have windy winter in Poland right now)

Thanh you for pics.

It is a 3s or 2s battery? And what about size (in sense of mAh)?

You're welcome mate!.... It's a cheap 2 cell 1200 mah (around 75 grs) The wing is stock... I only added the KK with openaero and I'm pretty happy with the results... was flying on rails in 20 mph winds... so go figure!

Lance - did you apply that tape after a crash, or to strengthen the structure in CASE of a crash?

My Z-84 arrived today, thinking about putting (clear) tape on the leading edges and maybe a thin coating of 2-part epoxy on the nose.

Nicely molded parts, can't wait to fly her!

Planning on using an 1850kV motor from the Radjet w/ 6x4 prop and 3S 1300mAh 45-90C battery, an unmarked ESC (at least 30A) and Orange 4-ch micro RX.

Well... I always put some tape on the leading edge in all my planes. Specially the wings... in case of a not friendly meeting with poles and trees ... And no, I didn't crash it... yet!
In this particular case I'm working abroad and If I glue the wings I can;t take it back home, so It's all stick together with tape... And It's holding awesome.
I like your setup.... you'll have a rocket
I went for a short flight today but I have some nice footage... hopefully I'll upload this week to share.
Good luck with yours and happy flying!
