Df-747-8

Hello,

She's all put together though progress has stopped as I need to get refilled on some hot glue so I can mount the rx.

Some shots of the Nose, Tail and "profile" or side

***Just realized I forgot to add the row of windows up front, so currently first class cabin is not available- but we anticipate it to be available beginning on her maiden flight.

Motor, rx/esc on board. With bat, AUW 23.1g.

Boom,

For the DF747, it just happened to be very close to 1/144 scale, a popular plastic model size for commercial airliners. The decals I had were actually too long, but the easy fix was to just eliminate some windows. I think A380 decals would be similar to 1:144, but I haven't done the math to verify it's scale. The 737 is much bigger than 1/144. In this case, since I have a 1/200 scale desktop model, I will probably take photos or copies of the actual vert stab since I can take the model apart, then resize to fit.
If anyone plans to do similar; be forewarned that I've seen some decal sets on eBay cost the same price DF sells the plane for, if not more!

Hope that makes sense!

Cheers,

Neil

Took out my DF-380 for her first flight and with just minor corrections of rudder she flew relatively well. I say this because (and no I didn't reverse the prop LOL) i almost had to fly it at full throttle most of the time to keep her flying. I pulled back on the throttle to half and she flew but was a little lethargic didn't really like that. Controls were good she did nice split 8's and flew good circles.I used a 150mHa 25c E-flite battery. She was a little pitch sensitive but just a little more forward on the battery took care of that.(CoG is very important on this) She could use just a bit more power or a 2"prop. Can it be done with this motor? or either that change the pitch? Other than that she flew well in NO WIND any slight wind and she's not happy. Good for indoor.

From my own experience E-flite 150's suck. Out of all the different types of batteries I have used Thunder Power 160's have worked the best for me. You may want to consider giving them a try, just a thought.

I some Turnigy 160 30c batteries and they seem to add just " a little" more punch and the liner flies better, I also got some Hyperion 160 which are also great. I love how she flies and can't wait to show her off in my next indoor fly in.

Sst

SST video added! Set up is a tad bit more involved, but she flies like an angel. V-tail (not delta) mix is required and 75% EXPO is a must. If you attempt to fly her without EXPO she will turn into the devil and bite you.
