That makes it easier to form into complex shapes, and more durable (crash resistant). The basic material is the same (foamed polystyrene): same color (bright white), and same density (weight). Both can be heat set and used with the same glues. MPF comes in convenient 2'X4' sheets. That is a good size for many foamies and great for Phlat Printers.
