Indoor Night at NEAT, Saturday Sept.-15-2012. Event photos added!

Cindy and I will be holding the Indoor Night at the NEAT Fair again this year in the Downsville high school gym on Saturday September 15th from 2pm-10pm. http://www.neatfair.org/ The event will feature some of the "Best in Micro" with state of the art micro models.

The event is open to individuals with models built from kits, or models built from their own designs. (No RTF's)

The format will be the same as previous years. We will have time slots for ultra slow models, and open flying for all types.

We will also feature the popular 1/2 time show that allows everyone around 5 minutes to showcase their latest creation for the crowd! (SKS Video should be on hand to film the event)

Models will not weigh more than two ounces, and will have a flight envelope that will allow them to fly safely in the high school gym.

AMA or Park Flyer insurance will be required!

Fee will be $20.00 payable at the registration table. All proceeds will go to the Downsville high school for their education programs.

Anyone interested in flying please e-mail me (Joe Malinchak) to register at joemal@echoes.net Include the models that you are planning on flying and the frequency's you will be using.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the event!

Thanks, Joe.

Sounds great Joe. I plan on being there and would like to get a spot in the 1/2 time show for my Micro Monocoupe and (soon to be finished) DHC-2 Beaver.

I am really looking forward to seeing the new Micro Monocoupe fly. I will save you a spot in the 1/2 time show!

It should be a great event as some big names in Micro R/C are planning on attending. Matt Keennon, Nick Leichty, Bob Selman, and many other are planning on attending. I think that Matt is going to fly his amazing micro Humming bird that was feature on the news. Just seeing the model fly will be worth attending! Admission is free for spectators.

I'll be there. Hopefully my skeletonized DRI from Gordon's plans will be ready by then.

Nice to see even more of the "names" comeback to the event.

When is the "half time" vs "open" flying?

Pete,
Nice to know you'll be coming to NEAT. I hope you can finish up your Dr.1. Mine had too many mid-airs and was retired last fall. I miss it. So, I'm starting a replacement. Progress is slow ... I'll probably get it finished just in time to drive to NEAT. Maybe we can fly them together.

Hi Pete,

We normally start the 1/2 time show around 630PM. I usually schedule it around SKS video as they want to film the show. We will keep it as short as we can, one hour or less, so everyone can enjoy the open flying!

Guess I'll have to bring my YAK from your design via cpdude.

Pete,
Stop all other projects and complete the Dr.1.

It will be nice if we can have more than just one or two cartoon scale planes.

Been flying the YAK for a year now. The Dr.1 is right after the Hyperion Super Chipmunk on the other end of the scale (8S 50 amps). I may have to build it in NY <grin>.

Pete,
You know, every year I intend to not have the big building crunch before NEAT (or for a few years KIEF). But, every year it's the same ...

Nice to know it's not just me.

I may have to give up on putting floats on a 42-in Foamie Ryan STA. Well there's always next year.

I agree. Sleep is for wusses who don't have planes to build in time for NEAT

I just finished the Nieuport top wing.
