My stock DJI motors run pretty hot, here's a way to measure the temperature in flight

I was trying to see how I can fit my temp probe from my TM1000 telemetry module and somehow get motor temp since my motors are running super hot.

I think this will get a good measurement and will stay in place and not slide up the side of the motor.
I still need to route the wire under the motor wires and into the spaghetti nest under my top plate but I think it's going to work pretty good.
Plus it seems that the base of the motor is the hottest anyways.
Will test it out at lunch.

So for those who have a DX8 this is a pretty cool way to make use of the temp probe that the TM1000 comes with.

Just hovered at about 10ft up for 9 minutes.
This is a stock F450 with all DJI equipment.

Over the grass the temp went up to 118 and over the dirt it went up to 122.
That's what it constantly was, I kept going from hovering over the grass to the dirt and had the same readings 118/122

It's pretty windy out so I didn't want to go high but I went to about 20ft and the temps went down 2 degrees.

When I landed the 122 degree temp slowly went up to 134 degrees in about 3 minutes then very slowly went down.

All the motors after landing were close to the same temp.

That does sound some what warm but 130 i don't think is to hot for the motors to handle if the ESC's get hot i would worry about that more then the motors IMO

On hot days like today (108) The motors get hot enough to where i cant touch them for more then a couple seconds and the esc's the same i have not had a prob with anything giving out on me yet...

I try to keep an eye on my ESC temp more then i do the motors. If the bearings are getting bad most the time you can feel or here it...

My ESC's only get a tad warm.
If they start getting warmer maybe I'll test out the probe on an ESC.
Thanks

Wow thats hotter than I expected is ok but mine are pretty warm too so that makes me feel better. Im adding the thermal loop to one motor and also going to cut open one of the esc shrink wraps and thermal paste one inside to the ESC. I can only read two temps so hopefully this will be even for all.
