Mini Me

These are all replicas of the 1:1 scale bikes I've owned. No longer have the real ones but the scale bikes keep me reminiscing. Longing to be back on the road again soon. Happy Hobbying!

That's the spirit!
Tell us more about the project please. Maybe a separate thread?
You have to hurry up though, spring is coming.

I've been what to do this for sometime - a Cox .098 Twin motorcycle. I hope I will finish it soon. The engine hasn't fired!

WOW!
I love it when people take ideas out of their brain and into the real world. No matter if it's good looking or even working properly, just to try it, to see if it can be done.
Keep up the work!

Now, I have a few questions regarding this project:
How did you design the crankshaft and housing? The V-twin 2-stroke crankshaft is a real challange to make if there is a common housing, as the pistons need to pump at exactly the same time. The positioning of the carburettor suggests you're using a common crankshaft housing.
Secondly I wonder about the transmission. It seems to me, it gears up the engine revs instead of down. Is this done on purpouse or did it just happen because these were the parts you had at hand?

I got my latest development done and runing. It is a 12scale dirt bike. Well, it is more of a clean dirt bike, so not water- or sandproof because of the tiny gyro. Anyway, its makes alott of fun to drive inside the house.

Hi z-dad, I bought the engine from eBay few years back. The cylinders
are offset, uses a longer crankshaft. It fires alternate. Has a Tarno carb.
For gearings, I just use the parts on hand. Want to see how it runs with
this setup. Looks and sounds pretty smooth. Don't know about the power though. Working on the rear swing up now.

Sprockets, chain, wheels are Meccano & Erector.

Thanks for your comment!
