Here are my very first pics...
Boy.. the bike is huge!
and its nowhere near as good as the Kyoshos! Where are the handlebars? and the footpegs? Ahhhh... not realistic!
COOL!.....

2 weeks of waiting, that's not too bad!.... Mine took 2 months and it was only comming from the state just below me...!

steliosh,... You look somewhat disapointed with it!.... Just wait till you get it setup right and drop a low turn mod or a brushless in it,... the exspression on your face will change!...

Have fun with it steliosh, their AWESOME FUN!...

Ride it like you stole it...! lol It's the only way i know!...

hi stelios,
the first time i got my bike i took it totaly
apart, as there are some things that are not very good from the factory, (like the shock, and the bearings).
and if you want some realism.......
you can always go for a muffler.....

have fun with it!

Thanks Shaun!
I just thought it would be at least as realistic as the HOR's. My purpose is not racing it really (it's the only TT in Athens, I know of, anyway), so it's pure for fun!
I have a friend with a real R1 who has a LOT of mods on it, but it's a 2001 red/black model.... (hmmm ... ideas... I might even use his license!)

I'm initially setting up the steering as per the instructions...
I'll set it up with dual links sometime tomorrow...

Already charged 2 (old Tamiya 1700SCRC) sticks, put on a Trinity S-Spec stock motor, an LRP Sport Digital ESC and I m going riding, since it's getting datk real soon! I HAVE to give it a try today!!!!!!!!!

I m quite excited, so I just installed everything on it and going for a quick spin to see it in action!
I didn't even touch the shock, yet!

so stelios, how did it run......?
i took out all the bearings and de-greased them .
there is a lot of thick grease in them, that couses a lot of drag.
and my shock was built very bad. the oil was like syrup,
end the rubber cap was put in wrongfully, so it leeked oil.
keep us posted on how it went..........

o...and by the way the pic with the mufler......

unfortunately it is not mine, i found it on the www
this is my bike

I just keep sticking decals on to cover the scratches and cracks. Pretty soon the bike will be one solid decal.

I managed to scratch a leg of the rider, and the right side of the undertray of the fairing. My bike is probably too low in the back.
The bike was really easy to drive (ride?!) and went straight right from the outset. The street in front of my home is not the best in traction, so I was really careful with the throttle. I managed to make it spin around itself twice (!) but otherwise I will not say a lot more... Dark fell quite quickly, so I packed it inside. It was rather a first impression, than a test ride! It feels good, but its VERY eager to lean, due to the triangular front tire I guess... I already put the GRP tires on, so it's ready for the next session... most probably during the weekend!

Of course I took a couple of pics (NOT running!), and right now I m sending them to my own site: http://www.steliosh.net/rcmoto/fm1e/

I have an idea of how to make that pipe or similar.
At my LHS I saw carbon Fibre Decal sheets for r/c cars, that can be used to wrap around any cylinder of tubing, balsa wood dowel...... anything the right size and shape(also light weight) then get crafty to make the tail piece and the pipe coming in.
Give me some time I can make it look scale or more so.
How about a nice kick-stand?? that's next.

If i recall... there was a pic of a TT Ducati, that's supposed to come next to the R1... THAT bike seems to have a kick stand, as well as fake dual front discs and radial (no less!) caliper mounts!

doesn't the R1 look a little... empty on the front wheel?!
I mean... we're used to EVERY bike having brakes on the wheels!

How much for that CNR front disc brake, again?!
