MY Fly Fly Hawk

just completed my Fly Fly Hawk using a new covering method called
glass light , In the past I have used Polyglass on foam , which is
water based polycrylic and tissue paper . but I have had great sucess
with this . but now with most Foam models being EPO foam
I had problems with the tissue lifting in the sun EPO like's to
bubble (aligator) in the hot sun so this time . I tryed heavy tissue
and finish cure 20 min epoxy mixed 75/25 with alcohol . the results
are excellent , the main avantage is its much lighter the old fashion
fiberglassing .

7/25/2012 Maiden Flight , sucessful , with minor landing accident
model flow in 12-17 mph crosswind

Hi

its very simple , the video shows how , I just used finish cure 20 min epoxy mixed 75/25 with alcohol , instead of the water based polycrylic
its a harder finish.

ployglass.wmv (3 min 2 sec)

fly fly 90 mm on board (5 min 47 sec)

90 mm Fly Fly Hawk flying on a centrifugal edf system (8 min 41 sec)

its best to try it on a scrap piece of foam ,

I'm very intrigued by your 2s centrifugal EDF as demonstrated in your Hawk video! Have you made any more progress with this style fan. The performance was remarkable considering the 2s battery and the size and weight of your model.
You are on to something!

Flying the triple7 now. Please keep us updated with your developments as it does seem much more efficient. The fan in your Hawk sounded like it could benefit from dynamic balancing. Would be great if you could post some details.
Cheers

Retired now the New GE engines I saw are for the new triple7X
and 37 X 30% more fuel effecent
New Air Traffice control will use GPS direct but the the new flight
system will allow ATC to control the aircraft?
but they are still working on it. so thats not written in stone
