I am still making steady progress on the Mako. I sanded the floats and moved on the the fuselage. The last Mako I built I didn't like how the fuselage ended up because I didn't have a good way to hold all the parts together while the foam-tac glue dried. This time it went much smoother because I pre-curved each piece of foam on the edge of my workbench before I glued it. This method only needed a couple of pins to hold things in place. Turned out much better.

The foam work is all done except for trimming the hatch so I will be starting the installation of the electronics this evening.

Thanks TMAC. Maybe Saturday of Sunday evening. Leaning towards Sunday as that will give me Sunday to finish up the new Mako.

I am new to RC planes (about a year ago), and thus far have scratchbuilt a couple F22s and a couple Polaris. I used fan fold and learned a lot through trial and error (hence...two of each plane!)

I bought my first kit...the MAKO which I picked up at the Warped Wings breakfast/flying event last Saturday...let me tell you, the kit is AWESOME!

I know the tiled plans are up now, but the kit contains so much more than just foam. Lots of precut servo horns and connectors and motor mount ply, all of the carbon, SLOTS already made for the carbon...

What I am trying to say is, if you are like I WAS and insist/plan on scratchbuilding this rig, do yourself a favor and order this kit. This thing already looked like an airplane faster than I could tape/cut the tiled plans!!

I am also liking the glue they recommend (can't remember the name, but about five dollars a bottle). I have used epoxy/gorilla/CA and still will, but am liking how this stuff is working!!

I'll post pics when it is complete!!
