Re the mid air at Desford it was more of a gentle caress , between myself and Cali. I own up to all responsibility being a slow learner. No damage was inflicted on either model.

Yes, Dave with his micro stick conversion and Cali with his Firefly, if they would have tried on purpose to do it it would never of happened!

Trevor's PCA-2 had a flight in the morning and he had a good 5 mins on the sticks and loved it! Unfortunately on the afternoon I crashed it, there was virtually no wind and I really struggled to get the blades to spin up. I thought they were up to speed and as it lifted off I ran out of strip and caught the longer grass.Left wing panel was damaged along with the rear of the fuselage, and I felt stupid!!
Once he has repaired it we will try again, not sure whether to add shim to the plan blades or not?, the tail wheel has been dropped but this didn't help with spin up a great deal? More than a 6mph wind and there isn't a problem.

Looks like you guys had a blast! Lots of Rich Harris designs....pretty cool man!

Sorry about the mishap on the PCA-2. Tough to get those blades going with a fixed head and only 4 degrees mast angle. You could try the shims and since you'll loose a little lift you could even bring the mast angle back a little more too. Worth a shot.

I will pass on the shim idea to Trevor for the next outing, I just didn't want to suggest something I hadn't tried..wish I'd got a video of him flying it now! trust me he was chuffed!!

Ian, Rich, Dave and Chas all had there OD's there, plus there was a Scout and the PCA-2 just need to keep on at the boys so I can build one of theirs

Talking to the chap with the Tank and it cost £3000, that's a lot of gyros
