SpyderQuad by DialFonzo!
Well guys and girls.
It is now flyable.
It is a work of art !
Solid frame. No Flexing, anywhere. Thick frame plates. Arms are vented.
Light weight. And very cool looking!
So I got the kit in the mail just a few days later. Opened the box and everything was there. Plus some extra parts to have, we know it will happen. It is better to be prepared.
I put it together in like one hour.
Some of the parts needed a few touch ups.
Nothing on the finish. Just the slots and holes needed to be cleaned up.
Normally I put stuff together, checking for fitting issues.
I will sit and look at it for a day and decided what is going where. How I am going to route everything.
Decide if, I will use velcro, zipties or velcro straps.
The only thing I really think it could use is a slot underneath for the video transmitter. I still don't feel safe after having it fall off one morning, good thing I wasn't that far above the high grass.
Since, I wanted to run this one only on 3S.
I slapped some high KV motors on it. I know these motors ca n put out 220 watts a piece, safely.
Turnigy 2822/14 1450 KV
I run them with 8" props and quick response and could carry my four pound Next-Level 500mm.
But I broke one of the wires pulling it thru the arms.
So, out with them for now.
I changed my mind again.
Doing numbers in my head.
Maybe, I don't need to run a 3S battery. Save them for something else later.
I guess all DJI won't hurt it.
Pulled all the motors and arm off and mounted the DJI 18's.
Placed the wires in and thing went smooth.
took the bullet connectors of the ESC's and soldered them striaght on. one less set of bullets needed.
Looks the same as the other picture just white ESC's.
I mounted the rest of the stuff.
BEC, remote switch, and LVC.
Then I mounted and wired up the Quad-Rino.
Refreshed the firmware back to 2.0, for some reason the board doesn't like the 2.1 it still locks out the radio.
Haven't figured out.
Everything is good. I even found in another box two matching orange props for the front.
I perfer orange in the front and green in the back.
It flies real nice and smooth. No vibration issues. That really comes from the motors and props.
Some people complain about this on frames. But it is something else.
Maybe they should look at the bearings.
Now there is a little bit of howling coming off the frame.
It is because I choose the swaure alum arms.
If the props were farther away, it would be less aubible.
Other than that stay tune for a flight demo and maybe some agressive flight later today.
Oh yeah the last picture is what hapen when I went inside for a glass of water.
There is another picture of the offspring.
