I was debating between the 3DHS 48" EPP Yak or the Sbach. I have a new Turnigy C3530-1100 lying around so I decided on the Sbach. With this motor (72g) and a Spyder 1800mah, it should be pretty light. Was thinking about trying the Savx SH-0254 servos. Ummmm.....

Parksinatree,

I take it your RCG's name is not an indian name but rather , has something to do with where one of your planes ended up? LOL

Like Toolman, I have flown the 3DHS planes. The 3DHS foam/balsa Yak and Extra are good flying planes but a comparison would not be apples to apples. The RC Factory Sbach from Twisted Hobbys is 100% EPP were as the 3DHS product is built up Balsa, ply and carbon and then sheeted with foam. The RCF Sbach will be Much more durable and more forgiving when the fingers and brain loss communication and easier to repair. Great for sport flying and perfect for flying and learning 3D.

Looks like your motor and battery would be a good match. The Savox 0254 should work well also. The weight , size and torque are all good.
You will also need a minimum 30 Amp ESC. Twisted has a 45Amp available here: http://www.twistedhobbys.com/ESC-Twi...ESC-TH-45A.htm

Worth also mentioning...

The Twisted 45A ESC outputs 5.5v on the SBEC.

Lower heat loss and better servo performance. Yes, even 1/2 a volt makes a difference.

I look forward to flying, crashing, picking up and flying again. I need a daily basher. It used to be my CZ Yak but it's just too heavy. Especially with all the tape and gorilla glue. I've got a few ESC's laying around so I'll check the BEC voltage on them. Thanks for mentioning the 5.5v thing. Kinda makes sense to me. I think they were out of the 45A ESC when I ordered my Sbach. Maybe later...

Plane in hand! YeeHaw!
First thoughts when opening Box is that you can tell the size difference already.
I just realized too that the landing gear is allready included, which is Another plus. And the packing of plane was spot on Professional. No damage and everything accounted for.

Im waiting on the Electronics for now befor i would acctually start the build.
Thanks Twisted!
